Tropical Storm Julio is a weak tropical storm that is forecasted to make landfall around Baja California. It developed from an area of low pressure that persisted since August 22 before it was designated as Tropical Depression 11E and then Tropical Storm Julio. Julio became the tenth tropical cyclone to be named in the East Pacific basin in the 2008 Pacific hurricane season. It also became the second tropical storm to threaten land this season after Alma.
Storm History
On August 23, the National Hurricane Center (NHC) upgraded an area of fairly organized low pressure which was located in the eastern Pacific ocean just south of Baja California to Tropical Depression Eleven E after persisting as an Invest since August 22 . [1] That afternoon around 5 minutes after the second Advisory package, the depression intensified into a tropical storm after a ship report that was delayed slightly, supported tropical storm intensity.[2]
