Umuahia South is a Local Government Area of Abia State, Nigeria. Its headquarters are in the town of Apumuri. Ohiya is one of the Ohiya Autonomous Communities that make up the local government area. Ohiya is located within the Abia Tower Express Junction that leads to Aba, Abia state

It has an area of 140 km² and a population of 138,570 at the 2006 census.
