Kozo Iizuka (飯塚 幸三, Iizuka Kozo[1], IPA: [iizuka ko(d)zoː]; born 1931) is a Japanese engineer serving as Director of the AIST[2] and President of International Measurement Confederation[3] and Human Frontier Science Program[3] and other.

Life[edit]

In 1931, Iizuka Kozo was born in Nakano in Tokyo.He graduated from the Tokyo University Faculty of Engineering Department of Applied Physics.He became Doctor of Engineering in 1972.

In 2015, He awarded Order of the Sacred Treasure for Achievement of International Trade and Industry administrative affairs.

Car Accident[edit]

In April 19, 2019, when he driving Prius, He struck pedestrians at a crosswalk. and he ignored the traffic light and collided with the garbage truck at the intersection. Two people(a girl and her mother) dead and eight people injured in this accident.It is reported that it is an accident due to wrong stepping on the accelerator and brake.[4][5]
