Originally a software and hardware design and manufacture company that turned into record and music publishing.

Founded in London in 1983 by two Czech refugees, Alexander Goldscheider and Ondřej Kořínek, it made and sold primarily via mail order utility based products for home computers, such as programs ‘‘Trans-Express‘‘, ‘‘Music Typewriter‘‘, ‘‘Genie‘‘, ‘‘Insider‘‘,‘‘Lifeguard‘‘ and ‘‘Rodos‘‘ for the Sinclair ZX Spectrum and Amstrad CPC and hardware peripheral interfaces Multiface One, Multiface 128, Multiface 3, Multiprint and Videoface for the Sinclair ZX Spectrum, Multiface Two for the Amstrad CPC and Multiface ST for the Atari ST. It also published a game ‘‘Wriggler‘‘ for the ZX Spectrum and Elite computers.

After Ondřej Kořínek left the company in 1990, Romantic Robot changed its direction towards music production and publishing. It released a seminal double-CD ‘‘Terezín: The Music 1941-44‘‘, followed by ‘‘Aaron Copland: An American in Prague‘‘ and Alexander Goldscheider’s own CDs, such as ‘‘Stabat Mater‘‘ and ‘‘The Song of Songs‘‘. It also designed maestro’s Jiří Bělohlávek’s website.
