Binay Shah, MD, MHA
Dr. Binay Shah is the co-founder and president of the Binaytara Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit dedicated to providing improving cancer care in underserved communities[1]. He is currently an oncologist and hematologist at PeaceHealth United General Medical Center. His clinical research focuses on health services and outcomes. Dr. Shah has published a number of papers in peer-reviewed journals including the Journal of Clinical Oncology, the British Journal of Hematology, Leukemia and Lymphoma, Acta Oncologica, and the Annals of Hematology[2]. He has presented a number of research papers in national and international conferences. He served as the president of the Idaho Society of Clinical Oncology from 2014 to 2015[3]. Dr. Shah is the recipient of the "Sweeny Spirit of Medicine for his outstanding humanitarian work through the Binaytara Foundation[4]. In 2017, Dr. Shah was again honored for his humanitarian work through the Binaytara Foundation by the B.P. Koirala Institute of Health Sciences with its Outstanding Alumni Award[5]. Dr. Shah received his medical degree from BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Dharan, Nepal. He completed his internal medicine residency from Long Island College Hospital, New York[2]. He completed his hematology oncology fellowship from the University of Illinois at Chicago[2].
