Personal Information
[edit]Major
[edit]I am currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Digital Communication Arts (formerly known as New Media Communications) here at OSU. DCA is essentially the study of all kinds of new media including film and television, radio and audio broadcasting, video games, and all internet-based forms of communication including social media. In DCA, we study how this media can be produced, managed, and its effects on the public. I also am a double minor in writing and German.
Interests
[edit]I currently enjoy making my own media content, primarily short films or sketches, as well as working on podcasts. Additionally, in my free time I enjoy writing creative nonfiction. I currently am one of the founding partners and content directors of Infinity Break, LLC, a multimedia entertainment group, and this serves as my primary creative outlet.
Travel
[edit]In my late teens I traveled to to Germany and South Korea. I visited Germany the summer after my junior year of high school and visited a few major cities including Frankfurt, Munich, and Berlin, as well as a very small town in the Rheinland called Bacharach. I really was fascinated by Germany and German culture just because it is definitely different from American culture, yet it also shares similarities with the U.S. because Germans are fascinated by American culture. I also spoke German almost fluently at the time and therefore was able to get a much more immersive experience while abroad.
I visited South Korea during spring break of my senior year of high school and was absolutely fascinated by its rich history and unique culture. Of the places I visited (primarily Busan and Seoul), I found the demilitarized zone between North and South Korea probably the most fascinating (and frightening) because the DMZ is surrounded by heavy military influence and is incredibly tense, but the DMZ itself is a very calm place that is primarily occupied by a museum.
Unlike my trip to Germany, however, I do not speak Korean, so I don't feel like I was able to get the same immersive experience as I did in Europe. Still, the traditions of South Korea were absolutely fascinating, and I definitely was challenged to learn Korean traditions as quickly as possible (sink or swim, essentially).
Group Work Preferences
[edit]- I enjoy working in groups of people who are equally passionate about the subject at hand and who are willing to enthusiastically collaborate on a task, even if we all have different opinions.
- I also enjoy working with laid-back people. I think it's a lot easier to work in a group if we all try to relax a bit and create a friendly, creative atmosphere.
- The main thing that drives me nuts in a group project is that one person who doesn't really do anything while the rest of the group picks up the slack. This is a user sandbox of Abserickson. You can use it for testing or practicing edits.

[edit]Escape Halloween Health Policies
[edit]A strict drug policy is enforced at the Insomniac venue, banning all drugs at its events. Even attendees with medical marijuana cards may not bring drugs to any events. Violators of the drug policy will be escorted from the venue.
Insomniac encourages attendees to notify on-site medical staff in the event of an emergency, including potential overdoses. Medical stations are located at every event in addition to roaming medical staff.
Signs of medical complications include the following:
- Vomiting
- Seizures
- Pale or bluish skin color
- Abnormal breathing or heart rate
- Abnormal body temperature
- Delusions, hallucinations, or paranoia
- Unresponsive pupils
- Confusion, stupor, or coma
Insomniac encourages attendees to contact medical staff in the presence of any of these symptoms.
HG edit
Due to the strict drug policy, Insomniac does not allow any recreational drug use, not even by those who possess medical marijuana cards. Any violations of this policy result in removal from the venue.
There are medical stations as well as roaming medical staff to address arising issues.
MR edit
The event has a strict drug policy. Insomniac has a policy limiting any recreational drug use at the event facilities, including any use by individuals who have medical marijuana cards. Violations of the policies in place result in immediate removal from the festival. If a health issue were to occur, there are staffed medical stations on site
