Lewis Clarke

On January 8, 2014 Lewis Clarke became the youngest ever person to trek the full distance (730 miles) from the Antarctic coast to the South Pole. The sixteen year old was guided by Carl Alvey (aged 30) from Expeditions 365 based in Norway and the expedition logistics were handled by ANI (Adventure Network International). The team of two started from Hercules inlet and took 48 days to complete the trek. The expedition was supported (by 3 food drops) but not assisted (by dogs, vehicles etc.). Lewis's record is recognized by Guinness World Records.

On September 4, 2010 Lewis Clarke was one of a team of twelve year old boys who became the youngest relay team ever to swim across the English Channel. The team were called the Bristol English Channel Swim Team. Their record is recognized by the CS&PF (Channel Swimming and Piloting Federation). The team won the Leo Cox Award for the Fastest CS&PF Junior Relay of 2010, completing the swim in 13 hours 25 minutes and 30 seconds. The average age of the team was 12 years and ? days. The team comprised the following six swimmers:

Lewis Clarke was born in Bristol, England.
