The Shiroi Mahoutsukai (白い魔法使い, Shiroi Mahōtsukai, [Note 1]) is a fictional character in the 2012-2013 Kamen Rider Series Kamen Rider Wizard. He made his first appearance in a flashback in episode 2. As evident from his Magic Circles, his motif may also be based on the lunar phases.

Shiroi Mahoutsukai

[edit]

The Shiroi Mahoutsukai (白い魔法使い, Shiroi Mahōtsukai, voiced by Toshitsugu Takashina) is a mysterious amber-based white-robed entity that saved and gives Haruto the power and means to become Kamen Rider Wizard, leaving Koyomi in his care after the events of the first Sabbath. He later delivers the red Magic Stone to the Omokagedo to be used to make the Flame Dragon Ring and observes Kamen Rider Wizard's first fight as Flame Dragon, stating that he has evolved. He then uses his Black Cerberus Plamonster to lead Koyomi to the Phantom's hideout to obtain the blue Magic Stone which would later become the Water Dragon Ring. The Shiroi Mahoutsukai appears to Haruto for the first time since the Sabbath and helps create the Drago Timer. Additionally, when he sees the powers of Kamen Rider Beast for the first time, he remarks that he is an archetype of a wizard.[1]

Equipment

[edit]

Shiroi Mahoutsukai Driver

[edit]

The Shiroi Mahoutsukai Driver (白い魔法使いドライバー, Shiroi Mahōtsukai Doraibā) is the mystical device that enables the Shiroi Mahoutsukai to unlock the powers of the Wizard Rings, allowing him to transform into the Shiroi Mahoutsukai or perform various magical abilities, similar in appearance to the Wizardriver. By swinging a Wizard Ring across the Arma Stone (アルマストーン, Aruma Sutōn) held within the Palm Author (パームオーサー, Pāmu Ōsā), Shiroi Mahoutsukai can access many magic abilities. The Breath Enchanter (ブレスエンチャンター, Buresu Enchantā) announces "Now!" (ナウ!, Nau!) whenever magical power is invoked. When a ring that is used for finishers are scanned the Spell Enchanter says "Yes!" (イエス!, Iesu!) when it is scanned and "Understand?" (アンダースタンド?, Andāsutando?) instead of "Now!" after the name of the ring is announced.[2]

Wizard Rings

[edit]

Like Kamen Riders Wizard and Beast, the many magical abilities are accessed through the use of Wizard Rings (ウィザードリング, Wizādo Ringu). Transformation Rings (変身リング, Henshin Ringu) are worn on the Shiroi Mahoutsukai's left hand which are announced by the Shiroi Mahoutsukai Driver with the phrase "Shabadoobee Touch Henshin!" (シャバドゥビタッチヘーンシーン!, Shabadubi Tatchi Hēnshīn!)) , while the Magic Rings (魔法リング, Mahō Ringu) are worn on his right which are announced by the Shiroi Mahoutsukai Driver with the phrase "Le Patch Magic Touch Go!" (ルパッチマジックタッチゴー!, Rupatchi Majikku Tatchi Gō!).

Transformation Rings
  • Change (チェンジ, Chenji): Used to transform into the Shiroi Mahoutsukai.
Magic Rings
  • Driver On (ドライバーオン, Doraibā On): Changes an ordinary belt into the Shiroi Mahoutsukai Driver.
  • Engage (エンゲージ, Engēji): Allows the Shiroi Mahoutsukai Driver's wearer to enter the Gate's Underworld. They are usually worn on the Lung Chain (ラングチェイン, Rangu Chein).
  • Teleport (テレポート, Terepōto): Allows the Shiroi Mahoutsukai and any object he is holding to teleport to a different location.
  • Explosion (エクスプロージョン, Ekusupurōjon): Allows the Shiroi Mahoutsukai to launch a ball of energy that explodes when it hits an object.
  • Garuda (ガルーダ, Garūda): Summons the White Garuda Plamonster.
  • Cerberus (ケルベロス, Keruberosu): Summons the Black Cerberus Plamonster.

Plamonsters

[edit]

The Plamonsters (プラモンスター, Puramonsutā) are familiars created from plastic models that are given tentative life through the use of the Wizard Rings.

  • White Garuda (ホワイトガルーダ, Howaito Garūda): Capable of flight, White Garuda is used to perform aerial reconnaissance.
  • Black Cerberus (ブラックケルベロス, Burakku Keruberosu): Black Cerberus performs ground-based reconnaissance and is strong enough to fight on its own.[3]
