Boris Micka Born in Kroměříž (Czech Republic) in 1962, Boris Micka obtained his academic degree in architecture at the University of Applied Arts in Prague under the guidance of the stage designer Josef Svoboda and the architect Rostislav Vratnik. Boris Micka specializes in the world of museums and exhibition design and art direction.

In 1992 he participated in the development of the Universal Exhibition in Seville and was responsible for the design of the Pavilion of Castilla La Mancha, Pavilion of Egypt, and the exhibition "American Gold" at the American Pavilion.

Since then, settled in Seville, in 1993 he became Director of the Museums Department of General de Producciones y Diseño, S.A. His experience in different field such as art, sculpture and industrial design, allows him to communicate his ideas in an innovative way.

Boris Micka is a member of the European Museum of the Year Award’s (EMYA) Judging Panel, International Council of Museums (ICOM), the Museum Association of United Kingdom, the European Network of Science Centres and Museums (ECSITE), the Association of Professional Museologists of Spain (APME and AEM).

Boris Micka has designed and directed more than a hundred different projects such as the Archaeological Museum of Alicante “MARQ” (Best European Museum Award 2004), the Museum of Almeria (Special Commendation for Best European Museum EMYA 2008), the Museum of the Memory of Andalusia and the National Museum of Underwater Archaeology in Cartagena. Exhibitions such as: "The Splendour of the Cordovan Umayyads" in Madinat-al Zahara or "Ibn Khaldun, the Mediterranean in the Fourteenth Century" in New York. He also directed the Mirage show at Dolphin Lake Park La Ronde in Montreal and the Multimedia Show in Port Vell, Barcelona, among others.

During the Expo Zaragoza 2008, Mr. Micka developed the Pavilion of Acciona (Gold Medal Award by the Bureau International des Expositions, Intermedia-Globe Gold awarded by the World Media Festival, Art Director’s Club Award and Red Dot Design Award 2009 in Communication Design) and the Pavilion of Aragon.

His work has extended through Europe and Asia with exhibitions such as "De Byzance à Istanbul" at the Grand Palais in Paris or "Legendary Istanbul" and "Treasures of Aga Khan" at Sakip Sabanci Museum in Istanbul.

The most recent success has been the design of the Saudi Arabia Pavilion at the Expo Shanghai 2010. This pavilion obtained the Gold Medal for "Best Creative Display", awarded by the Bureau International des Expositions. It also won the prestigious "Red Dot Design Award: Best of the Best 2010", the “IF Communication Design Award” by the International Forum Design and recently has obtained Silver award by Art Directors Club and Bronze World Medal by New York Festival 2011.

He is currently developing projects such as, HeLv Relics Museum of Wuxi in China and Museum of Islamic Calligraphy of Istanbul.
