Jonathan Santos is a first generation Latino American Entrepreneur and Youtuber. Known on Youtube as JohnxSantos,[2] his channel consists of teaching other Entrepreneurs the tips and tricks of creating a business from the ground up through collaborations with others in the apparel industry. He is currently sitting at 182,000 subscribers as of October 2020 and several videos with over 1 million views.[3]
Career[edit]
Jonathan started his career as an entrepreneur shortly after graduating high school. The name of his first business was called Revive and it was a company he built with the help of his brother Cesar Santos, friend Medin Gebrezgier and his then girlfriend but now wife Amanda Love Santos. Their product was a line of backpacks.[4] Through the creation of the backpacks and attempts at growing out the company, Jonathan was able to learn about the necessities needed to create a lasting brand, like manufacturing and design as well as consistent market research.
It wasn’t until after a failed distribution deal that was meant to collaborate with Monster Headphones fell through that John went to YouTube to share what he had learned from the years he spent building up Revive.[5]
Shortly after this, Jonathan and his team created a new product called the Game Bag and were approached by Steve Harvey to be on his show FunderDome. Here they won a grand prize of $20,000 and were able to finally handle direct orders from customers. But over the years of creating Revive, the company had accrued a lot of debt, and Jonathan put his focus on paying it off and took a step back from Revive in order to create long term success for his next business endeavor.[6]
YouTube career[edit]
Jonathan’s first YouTube Video was called “How to Start a Clothing Line with less than $50”[7] That video was the first to get over 1 million views on his channel. Since then John has posted over 180 videos teaching entrepreneurs everything from the hows of creating a website to how T-shirts are made. He's worked with companies such as Bella Canvas, Shopify, and Adobe.
Personal life[edit]
Jonathan grew up on the East Side of Las Vegas where his parents had immigrated to from Jalisco, Mexico in the eighties. He attended an automotive magnet in high school and joined the Police Cadet program[8] before leaving to pursue his own entrepreneurial ventures. While working as a Police Cadet, he took night classes at the local community college, The College of Southern Nevada, to learn about business.[9] During the time he spent at the College of Southern Nevada, he became acquainted with a Professor who gave him the encouragement to pursue the entrepreneurial ideas he had. It also gave him the chance to compete in a Business Incubator that the college hosted where he was able to present a business plan and in return win funding for said plan. However, while he did compete in that competition, he did not secure the funding that he needed to start his company. Instead he continued to take this Professor as a mentor for when he would be ready to launch his business.
Jonathan is husband to Amanda Love Santos and recently a father to his firstborn child.

2015: 2nd place at The Donald W. Reynolds Governor’s Cup Collegiate Business Plan competition. $15,000 cash prize.[10]

Dec 2019: 100,000 Subscribers on YouTube.[13]
