Useful links

With regards to the edit page, can we please make it so that the hidden categories and transcluded templates are collapsed (by default)? On long pages these list can become quite unwheldly, and it seems odd that it is presumed the majority of people want to see them all the time. They are a major source of visual clutter on the edit page, and must be confusing to new users.

These lists are only ever useful on the odd occasion, and when they are, I'm sure it wouldn't be too much bother to click "[show]".

Reads as:

  • "Pages transcluded onto the current version of this page:" (even when not editing current version)
  • "Templates used in this section:"
  • "Templates used in this preview:"

All three fail to take plurality or singularily into account.

They appear to be created by MediaWiki:Templatesused and MediaWiki:Hiddencategories.
