Alone Up There is a documentary film produced by Prairie Coast Films examining stand-up comedy. The film focuses primarily on the mechanics of stand-up comedy and what it takes on a personal level to do comedy as a career. Alone Up There explores the contemporary culture of stand-up comedy with a focus on the performer. Using interviews with several professional comedians and experts the film asks the questions: “What kind of person can do standup?” and “What kind of person would want to?” The film contains interviews with comedians Marc Maron, Eddie Pepitone^[1], Jeremy Hotz and many more. The film premiered at the Rio Theatre^[2] in Vancouver on September 20th, 2012 and was released digitally through thestandupcomedians.com
