Description[edit]

NHCP-Registered Seal, 1975

The main feature of the Seal of Quezon is a bust of the man after whom the province was renamed - the late President Manuel L. Quezon. His bust is supported by two Philippine Lion-headed dolphins, The Lion-headed dolphin is one of the eldest Philippine heraldic features and was given to the capital of the Philippines by King Philip II of Spain. Below in the foreground is the coconut palm symbolizing the main industry of the province, and in the background is Mount Banahaw, prominent physical landmark that towers over the province. Above the palm the rainbow of hope for better things further symbolized the hope for the future of the country which was always uppermost in the life and work of Manuel Quezon, a son of the province which bears his name.[1]
