Professor Michael D Potter is a British philosopher and mathematician. He is known for his theoretical work in logic, arithmetic and set theory in mathematics and his commentary on Wittgenstein[1] in philosophy. Potter is the author of Scott-Potter theory, a set-theoretic approach to the foundations of mathematics.

As of 2014, Potter is University Professor of Logic and the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Cambridge.[2]
