Joseph ND Benhard(born May 10, 1972 in Okalongo, Namibia) is a professional boxer in the light flyweight (lb) division.
Amateur Highlights
[edit]As an amateur, Joseph represented Namibia as a light flyweight at the 996 summer Olympics Atlanta, USA. His result was: .Benhard lost to Spaniard Rafael Lozano in the first round.[1]
Pro career
[edit]Joseph Benhard turned pro in 2004 and made a comeback when he lost the Light weight challenge in 2005 to Simon Negodhi. He then tried to make a comeback but his age couldn’t allow it. Nicknamed "Fimbi Kaliwa", he is still undefeated in his amateur boxing career, but had to quit boxing in order to settle with his family in his marriage .Joseph then got married in 1999 to his beautiful wife Julieta shortly after retiring from amateur boxing.[2]
Outside the Ring
[edit]Joseph tried to campaign for his mother Swapo in the previous Namibia elections held in the mid November of 2009. He was also involved in the helping of neediest during a tragic {[flood that happened at the northern parts of Namibia.
Come back
[edit]Benhard returned to boxing in March 2007, when he established a boxing club known as Kilimanjaro Boxing club named after Mount Kilimanjaro, in Namibia. He won many hearts of business people as well as that of his political party Swapo, thus his established club got sponsored on several occasions. The third sponsor was from the governor of Oshana honorable Clemens Kashuupulwa. .[3] The second sponsor was in 2011 when he received boxing gear from the Germany embassy in 2011.
Kilimanjaro Boxing Club
[edit]Joseph Benhard is currently the CEO of Kilimanjaro Boxing Club and the founder. He has five professional boxers under his boxing club.
