Sharon Weinberger is the editor-in-chief of Defense Technology International, a bimonthly editorial supplement to Aviation Week & Space Technology. Her writing on science and technology has also appeared in Slate, and the Washington Post Magazine.

Weinberger once worked for System Planning Corporation, a research organization that focuses on national security.

She identifies her first book, Imaginary Weapons, as a book about the dispute over an isomer bomb, a theoretical weapon.
