Outsmarted is an American sitcom that first aired October 27, 2011 on NBC and concluded on end on June 28, 2018. The show consists of seven seasons 165 episodes of the series. The show follows Dr. Vincent Smart, a thirty-six-year-old guidance counselor at King High School located in the metropolitan area of Atlanta, who is faced with the ordeal of opening up his home to his sixty-year-old mother Ruth Washington Smart and his twenty-six year old sister, Registered Nurse, Erin Smart, after their house had been burned down to pieces. Vincent tries to adjust to living in a house full of women including his thirty-six-year-old wife who is an accountant for the Coca-Cola Factory, Monica Allen Smart and his ten-year-old daughter, Savannah Smart. With the trouble of having to deal with four different woman who he holds dear in his life under one roof, he tries his best to take care of them by not picking favorites while at the same time trying to guide and help his students. Even though his house is fully woman-dominated, his neighbor and best friend and former gym partner, Kyle Harper who is a famous and outstanding NFL quarterback for the Atlanta Falcons gives him a breather from the girls sometimes while helping him in being there provider.

In the series premiere of Outsmarted, Dr. Vincent "Vince" Smart, a thirty-six-year-old guidance counselor at King High School in Atlanta deals with one of his students' who is having issues with his mother and girlfriend's relationship. Vince is happily married to thirty-six-year-old Monica Smart, accountant for the Coca-Cola Factory of eleven years and are the proud loving parents of a sweet and sassy nine-year-old girl, Savannah Smart. With the help of his close friend and neighbor, Kyle Harper, NFL quarterback for the Atlanta Falcons, he tries putting together a man cave in one of the vacant rooms in Vince's house. However, his plans are shot dead when he receives word from his wife that his mother's house has burned down and his mother and younger sister are in need of a place to stay. The insurance won't help the damages so Vince is left with no option than to open up his home to his sixty-year-old mother, retired school teacher, Ruth Smart and his twenty-six-year-old little sister, registered nurse, Erin Smart. Erin has been living with her mother for the past four years so she can help pay bills and take care of her until she gets married and starts a family of her own ever since James Smart passed who is Vince and Erin’s father and Ruth’s late husband. This adjustment is very difficult for Vince and the others as Vince tries to take care of the most four important women of his life: his mother, his wife, his sister, and his daughter. The adjustment is also difficult for those of the ladies of the house as they all have different ways of doing things especially that between Monica and Ruth. Tensions become so heated that he resorts to putting his mother and sister out. Kyle tells him that he shouldn't have done that considering their situation so he allows Ruth and Erin back in his home but before they can move forward Vince has to establish some ground rules among the ladies and they all have to come to a consensus and compromise about some things to make the adjustment work. The girls agree and adhere to Vince's terms and vows to try their best to co-exist under one roof as long as necessary.
22"Out With the Old, In With the New"November 3, 2011104
With new residents in the Smart Household, Ruth and Erin believe that the living room could use a great deal of decorating. When addressed to Vince about this desire, he sees nothing wrong with how the living room is now and wants it to be left alone. Against his wishes, Ruth and Erin go looking for furniture and when it arrives to the house, Monica warns them how upset Vince will be when he comes home and realizes how different the house looks. They believe that once Vince sees it he will be alright, although this is the opposite of the outcome. He comes home and he is very slow to realize the change but when he does he is out right mad and demands it be return the store. When it is returned his mother and sister are upset with him and only wanted to change the furniture so they can make it feel like their actual home during the transition. Vince understands their issue and the next time he promises to be more considerate.
33"Neighbor Problems"November 10, 2011106
For the last six years, the Smarts have been living next door to Vince's long time best friend Kyle Harper, the quarterback for the Atlanta Falcons, one of the most current prominent players in the league and of his time. Football season is the worst time of the year for the residents of Peachtree because after every Falcon win Kyle throws a big house party and sometimes Vince will join him in the partying but now that his mother and sister are living next door to him it becomes a huge bother especially to Ruth. Vince tries asking Kyle to tone it down and when he tells him he will, Kyle's house is once again disturbing the Smarts sleep so Ruth goes over to complain to Kyle but ends up getting involved in the party herself. Vince and Monica have to get her from Kyle's house and is mad that he let a woman of her age party like that when Ruth is taken back she is told by her son, daughter, and daughter-in-law that she can no longer attend his parties. The next week when the Falcons win again, Kyle throws a party and invites Ruth but she tells him that she can't go. When hearing and seeing how live the party is, Ruth sneaks out and Savannah rats her grandma out and tells her parents and aunt of Ruth's whereabouts. They all come in a stop the party and embarrass Ruth who happens to be the life of the party. Ruth is upset and was only trying to live her life as best as she can despite her age and that she wanted to have some fun. Understanding her point, Vince apologizes for not being understanding and for handicapping her but he along with others tell her that a house party full of drunk middle aged people is not the place for her.
44"Turkey Day Tale"November 17, 2011102
Thanksgiving is about to roll around and and it's the first Thanksgiving with them all under one roof and Monica is determined to fix the dinner all by herself without the help of her over-bearing mother-in-law and critical of food, Ruth, but Vince doesn't want her to do it by herself because when she stresses she doesn't give her best work. Ruth and Vince try to help but she denies their help but they still want to help so they make her think she's doing all the cooking when he really isn't and cooks some of Thanksgiving dinner without Monica knowing. In the midst of this, Monica, Ruth, and Vince continue to go back and forth sending Kyle to go to the store to get different groceries in hard rain and Kyle is getting very irritated with this. Meanwhile, Erin is determined to to go to this Pre-Black Friday sale before I dinner so she tries her hardest to get there and take advantage of some deals with the help of her niece Savannah. When they return home from the sale, Monica realizes that she turned the turkey up too high and it explodes and hits Erin knocking her out and needing to send her to the hospital. In the end, they all eat turkey sandwiches from the hospital cafeteria for Thanksgiving dinner and Kyle is very annoyed when he realizes that all of his hustling and bustling in the rain no longer mattered.
55"A Christmas Story"December 1, 2011103
For the Christmas holidays, Vince has the idea of spreading Christmas spirit and joy to the patients of Metro Atlanta Hospital by having some of his most troublesome students perform Christmas carols and give the patients Christmas presents to earn their community service credit. Meanwhile, Erin juggles with the chaos of her patients and fellow co-workers trying to not work for Christmas and putting more work on her. Vince tries to set his students in the right mindset as they prepare to go out on Christmas Eve. On the night of Christmas Eve, Erin is a running fool while Vince's students are not the least bit interested and are just trying to leave until they see someone their age who has cancer and when they realize how grateful they are they change their attitude. Elsewhere, a pregnant couple Mary and Joseph is going into labor and needs a room but Erin is having difficulties trying to find an available room for her to give birth. On the elevator, her contractions get closer and the elevator gets stuck and Mary can't hold in the baby anymore and Vince and his students who are also on the elevator try calming her down. Eventually the elevator gets unstuck and Erin helps with a doctor to deliver Mary's baby who turns out to be a boy. In the end, Vince's students are really thankful for the opportunity and are really glad they were able to spread some Christmas cheer.
66"Goldfish Funerals"December 8, 2011105
Savannah's beloved pet goldfish, Mr. Fish dies thanks to a mistake on feeding her from her father Vince. Vince is charged with the responsibility of breaking the news to his daughter and that he was the cause of it. Vince struggles with this and tries avoiding this but he indeed does this and is Savannah is very sad. Vince decides to give a funeral for Mr. Fish so Savannah can have closure but really it's because of his guilt for killing the fish. On the day of the funeral however, Vince is irritated that no one is taking the funeral service including Savannah. In the end, Savannah forgives Vince and says it's no big deal.
77"Vince's Bet"December 15, 2011105
Lately, Vince has been betting at the barber shop on the season of the Atlanta Falcons NFL games and everyone of Vince's bets, have been correct and earned him money. His family members are unaware of this but are curious of where all the current increase in money came from. With the NFL Playoffs coming up, Kyle is very determined to win and take the team to the Super Bowl. Vince bets they will win every playoff game. Unfortunately, they lose the first and Vince must owe the money when he tries betting on the second game. Vince doesn't have enough money to pay if he loses the bet so Vince begs Kyle to win and Kyle tells him he'll try his best. The Falcons end up losing the game and Vince ends up losing the bet. When Vince can't deliver the money, a guy named Chuck threatens him that he has 24 hours to come up with the money. Vince doesn't know what to do and when he tells Kyle, Kyle tells him he'll give him the money but instead he sets Chuck straight and scares of him allowing them both to keep their money. Vince apologizes to Kyle in the end for gambling on his success.
88"The Dog"January 5, 2012108
Savannah finds a stray dog as she walks home from school. She along with her mother, aunt, and grandmother and Kyle try to hide the dog from Vince. Vince finds out and demands that dog leaves but they convince him to letting them keep the dog until the owner is claimed. So he gives them two weeks. During those two weeks while Vince gets attached to the dog, the others find out keeping a dog is a bigger responsibility than what they thought and they begin to grow tired of it. When the dog owner comes, Vince reluctantly gives the dog back.
99"Bowling"January 12, 2012111
The family decides to go out bowling one night just to have some family fun time together. At first it is a fun game among the Smart Family and Kyle but once The Givens family, a family that had an altercation with them years past, arrives in the lane next to them it becomes an all out war. So after an hour of both families competing and claiming that they are cheating then Vince and Scott Givens decide to have their own bowling game between the two of them. When it begins to rain as Vince is about to bowl, the lights go off right as the ball hits pins. Vince thinks that it's a strike but Scott begs to differ.

Erin's idea for a new short story kind of involves her family in it. At first everybody thinks she was making fun of them but then they all forgave her except for Vince only because he thought that he was being helpful to her than instead being pushy and mean, so they both keep arguing at each other because of the short story. In the end, Vince apologizes for his attitude and Erin apologizes for what she wrote.

Vince tells Kyle that as a celebrity athlete he needs to build a brand and start a charity foundation. Kyle reluctantly wants to do this but he agrees and Vince sets up the opportunity for Kyle to spend a day with a dying teen Cameron, a big fan of Kyle from the request of his mother who happens to be one of Vince's students. Kyle agrees to this and offers his kindness to Cameron and takes him to the Atlanta Falcons stadium to show him a few things. But Cameron, happens to be very rude and desires the outside life of football (parties, girls, and money) and when he tries explaining that it's more than that Cameron threatens to tell the NFL that Kyle really didn't want to do it so with the help of Vince he arranges one of Kyle's bar girls to give the hormone-raged teenager a tease but not touching. Kyle takes Cameron to a strip club and he enjoys it. Unfortunately, the next two days Cameron's disease takes over and he dies. His mother tells him that one of his last days on Earth with Kyle was the best day of his life.
1212"Wedding Anniversary (Part 1)"February 2, 2012112
It has almost been twelve years since Vince and Monica tied the knot as husband and wife. Their twelve-year-anniversary is coming up and Vince wants to do something unexpected and out of the ordinary. For the past anniversaries, Monica has never been the easiest to surprise and she has always been on to him. So with the help of Kyle, Ruth, and Erin he plans on pulling a big surprise over his wife's head. Meanwhile, Monica is doing everything she can to figure out what Vince has planned for their anniversary but every clue that leads her to thinking it's from Vince she gets wrong and she starts to believe that Vince has forgotten all about it. She then has Savannah inconspicuously asks Vince what's his plans are for the weekend and being on to Savannah, he tells her that the big fight is on and he plans on watching it. Savannah relays this back to Monica who becomes very, very upset.
1313"Wedding Anniversary (Part 2)"February 9, 2012113

With Vince and Monica's twelve-year-wedding anniversary approaching, Vince plans to surprise her in a way Monica will never see it coming. But an anxious Monica gets mad when she starts to think her husband has forgot all about their anniversary and when she gets confirmation from Savannah, she is completely mad at him and gives him the cold shoulders. On anniversary day, as Vince prepares to go golfing without acknowledging their anniversary Monica is very upset and Erin encourages her to give him a piece of her mind. When he returns from golfing, Monica yells at him for forgetting their anniversary and Vince calms her down by asking for her hand in marriage again. A tearful and surprise Monica accepts, and goes with Erin and Ruth who were all along the scheme to help prepare for her and Vince's vow renewal later that night. When it is time for the wedding, as Monica is about to walk down the aisle she sees that her one of her favorite singers Grammy-Award winning recording artist, Bruno Mars is singing his hit song "Marry You" in their backyard. Erin and Monica actually had tickets to see Bruno Mars live in concert but Monica turned them down because of her and Vince's anniversary. Monica and Vince then renew each others vows and are pronounced husband and wife again. Monica confesses that Vince really had her for a second but it was the best anniversary present she could have.

Vince is having to deal with two students at school a bully and a victim of bullying and tries to reach common ground. Meanwhile at home, Savannah is having problems at school with a bully, so Monica invite's the bully's parents over to discover some of the kid's weak points. When Kyle tells her, that she should try smack-talking her, Savannah teases the kid back but the bully pushes her on the ground resulting in Ruth punching the bully in the nose making Savannah feel humiliated because it makes her look like she can't fight back.
1515"Mommy Dearest"February 23, 2012117
Monica starts getting overwhelmed with the amount of housework she has to do around the house without any help from her relatives especially being a full time associate of one of the busiest and richest companies in the world. Since Ruth and Erin have moved in, Ruth has decided to help Monica with her duties since she has nothing else to do. Monica feels bad that her mother-in-law has to do work in a house that's not hers at her old age but decides to let it slide when she sees how nice the house looks and she starts having more time on her hands. Not only does Ruth keep the house up she starts taking the complete role of Monica including babying Vince. Erin, Savannah, and Vince are too blinded to see that because they like how Ruth operates the house and does everything for everyone without having anyone do anything on her own. Every time Monica tries spending time with her husband or daughter or anyone else, Ruth always beats her to that punch so Candace yells at her for over-stepping her boundaries hen she grows tired of her taking over her life. In the end, Ruth apologizes to her daughter-in-law for not respecting her wishes and her house and Monica forgives her and appreciates the help and that she'll always appreciate the help of her mother-in-law as long as it's not excessive.
1616"Kyle's Dating Dilemma"March 1, 2012118
Kyle needs a date to the upcoming NFL banquet, he wants to take Miranda, a beautiful and high-class colleague who works with Monica and pays Kyle no attention. Vince's co-worker, Sonya really likes Kyle but he only likes her as a friend and barely that. All out of options, Kyle decides to take Sonya but then Miranda eventually accepts Kyle's invitation only to make her boyfriend, Shawn, jealous who will also be attending the Gala. Kyle is so overjoyed that he is taking Miranda, he completely forgets about Sonya and on the night of the banquet he is trying to juggle two dates at once. In the end, Miranda goes back to Shawn and Sonya finds someone who's actually interested in her leaving Kyle alone for the rest of the night until Erin who is also at the affair comes to his rescue and they dance together and in the moment share a kiss but they blame it on the amount of liquor they had been drinking.

Erin comes to King High School and with the help of Vince talks to the students about HIV and AIDS and other std's. Elsewhere, Erin meets and falls head over heels for a guy named Josh they date for a few weeks, but Erin starts sensing that something isn't right when he continues to not invite her in each night after their date, so she accuses him of having another woman at home and then when he cancels their lunch date but sees him purchasing groceries she breaks up with him. Later, Josh invites her over and explains that he has no other woman and that he cancelled their lunch date because he had a doctor's appointment because he is HIV positive which is also the reason why he has never invited her in because he didn't want to contract her with it. A surprised Erin understands and appreciates him telling. Josh then thinks it would be best if they broke up because it was too much for the both of them and Erin agrees.
1818"Parade Car"March 15, 2012114
Kyle is asked to ride in the Atlanta Falcons car for the Atlanta Anniversary Parade and he spreads the news to the the Smart Family and that no one is to even touch the car, let alone get inside it. Then, Vince convinces his sister Erin for them to take a spin and Kyle will never know, but they come back with a huge scratch on the car. Vince and Erin go behind Kyle's back and try to fix the car bringing Monica, Ruth, and Savannah into it. Luckily, they fix it just in time for the parade (or so they think). Kyle returns home angered after the car fell to pieces during the parade and demands questions which results in everyone pointing fingers at another.
1919"The Morning After"March 22, 2012122
When Kyle and Erin both find themselves at a club bar down about their single life, they sit down at the bar talk about their lives and problems and partake in many many drinks to the point where neither of them can drive so Vince must pick them up to take them home. When he takes his drunken sister and best friend back to their beds, Kyle saying goodbye to Erin finds himself stumbling upon Erin's bedroom and in the midst of them laughing and giggling having sex. The next morning, Monica comes in Erin's room to wake her up for breakfast and when she turns the light on she screams when she sees Erin and Kyle in bed together and when Erin and Kyle wake up they scream in each others faces and Kyle runs out the room and Erin runs to the bathroom to throw up. From then on, they act very awkward about it to each other and try avoiding each other and everyone knows it. Monica and Vince grow sick of it so they force the two one-night standers to talk about it. They both agree that it was enjoyable but it's hard for them to move on after that and they admit that it was only sex and that they still would rather remain just friends and forget that it even happened.
2020"Choir Director Ruth"March 29, 2012121

Ruth has been appointed as the church's new choir director and she is persuaded that she has the choir perfect just in time for gospel fest featuring special guest gospel sensation Fred Hammond. Vince decides to join the choir but his mother kicks him out of the choir when she remembers that her son can't sing a lick. Soon everyone else leaves the choir after being fed up with her micromanagement. On the day of the gospel fest, Fred Hammond arrives wondering what happened to the choir and after Ruth explains herself and the situation he sets Ruth straight by advising her that God isn't interested in the quality of the voice, but that the words come from the heart. In the end, during gospel fest the choir including Vince decide to sing and help Ruth.

2121"Handy Vince"April 5, 2012115
When the toilet gets clogged, they are in need of a plumber but cheapskate Vince insists that he can do it himself instead of hiring someone to do it to save on money. Monica knows it will make matters worse but she lets him make a fool of himself anyway. At first Vince does well but then it backfires which forces him to call a plumber. When the plumber arrives while the ladies are gone, Vince and Kyle are hovering over him making sure he knows what he's doing but then they end up messing something up knocking the poor plumber unconscious and not waking up at all and they suspect that he's dead. When Ruth, Erin, Savannah, and Monica arrive home from the mall, Vince and Kyle try hiding it from them but they are unsuccessful and are completely in shock. Ruth gets the idea that instead of just throwing him out somewhere they should give him a small funeral something he deserves. After they have this insane funeral and take a moment of silence, the plumber wakes up and tells them it happens all the time. He gives them the bill and is on his way with the toilet being fixed.

Vince tries to diet and starts exercising more to training for an upcoming marathon, Erin laughs at all his training and hard work by insisting she can run faster than her brother can which is why she is not doing any exercising. But when the big day comes and Erin sees that her big brother Vince is starting to get ahead of her, Erin has to cheat in order to make it to the finish line first, so that she can prove her point, but she ends up loosing. Vince is highly upset with Erin hat she cheated but she confesses that she only cheated because she finally wanted to beat her at something because all her life ever since they were kids Vince was always the one getting trophies and receiving numerous accolades when she barely got consolation prizes. Vince understands but reminds her of all the great things Erin has done that he could never do.
2323"Burglary (Part 1)"April 19, 2012121
In part one of the two-part season one finale of Outsmarted, the family decides to leave the house for a night to spend time together out on the town. Vince is somewhat hesitant because there have been a few house burglaries in the neighborhood over the past couple of weeks but he still decides to go. Kyle accidentally leaves the door unlocked, leaving the house prone to be broken into which it in fact is. When they return home, they see that the house has been completely destroyed and some of the belongings are gone missing. Vince is upset with Kyle so Kyle sets out to find who did it. Meanwhile, Vince announces to his wife, mother, younger sister, daughter and best friend that he plans on selling the house and moving somewhere else.
2424"Burglary (Part 2)"April 26, 2012122
In part two of the two-part season one finale of Outsmarted, when the Smart family along with Kyle return home after a night of fun in the most popular city of the south, they find their house wrecked and missing a few things. After the burglary, Vince makes the decision to sell the house and move elsewhere, possibly in a small and safer city unlike Atlanta because it's a dangerous city. When the others hear this news, they beg him to reconsider but he doesn't. Vince later takes them on a surprise road trip to a nice quiet little town in Alabama where it's safe and there's not a lot of action. He finds a big nice and quiet house "in the middle of nowhere". Monica, Ruth, Erin, Savannah and even Kyle don't want them to move but Vince has made his mind and he makes them pack up the house. On the day, that they get ready to move as Vince is standing in his house about to close the door he looks around and reflects on the memories he's had in the house. He then realizes that he can't leave the house full of so much history and love behind it and he tells his family to unpack everything back up because they are no longer moving which is joy to them all.

In the season two premiere of Outsmarted, after the burglary, Vince decided to sell the house but then they realized the house held too many memories to let go so now he must resort to another way of protecting his house and family. Kyle, suggests getting a top of the line gun and Vince agrees but Monica, Ruth, and Erin stop them in their tracks and suggest installing a security system. Vince considers this but he insists on installing it himself because it costs extra money having someone else install it and he wants it to be installed as high-tech as possible. Monica is skeptical about this because she knows her husband isn't very tech-savvy. Vince installs it perfectly at first but later on the system starts going haywire and causing chaos in the entire house. Monica and the others grow tired of the mishaps and calls someone to install the system the proper way.
262"Lottery Ticket"November 15, 2012205
Vince decides to play the lottery and much to everyone's surprise he wins $5,000,000. After hearing everyone's suggestion on what to do with the money, Vince completely ignores them and blows the money on unnecessary things including his friends. He also starts taking advantage of his family and friends and they want no parts with him. When he realizes that all his money is gone he realizes that the friends he "bought" are no longer there for him and he tries going back to his old friends and family and they all forgive him for acting like such a jerk.
273"Kissing Cousins"November 29, 2012207
Erin meets a very-good looking guy named Todd and starts to fall for her very hard and she starts falling for him as well. After they've been dating for a few weeks it starts to get serious so Erin invites Todd over to the house for dinner and Ruth and Vince recognize his face and his name immediately and when he tells them the name of his parents, Erin's mother and older brother is in shock because his father is the estranged half-brother of Ruth late husband and Vince and Erin's late father, James which makes them cousins. Neither one of them knew the other existed. Vince and Ruth tell them to stop dating but they continue to because they are too in love to stop dating. But they realize it is wrong and doesn't feel right when they are on the verge of having sex and they stop themselves in their tracks and end their relationship.

Vince is in charge as the director of the school Christmas play only to get a Christmas advance from the school. He tries to put the play together with some very reluctant students. Elsewhere, Erin is in charge with creating a special Christmas for the children patients for the same reason Vince is to earn a Christmas bonus and struggles with what to do. When Vince and Erin discover what they are going to do, Vince brings them to the hospital to perform the play and Erin will dress up as Santa Claus to give them the gifts. While at the hospital practicing the play, Vince's student, Marcus befriends hospital patient, David, who is really nice and really calm and tells Marcus that he should value his family and friends especially during Christmas. On the day of the performance, Vince goes out his way to make sure the play is perfect and that his boss, Principal Armstrong sees it and Erin goes more out her to way to make sure the kids love their presents so that her boss of the hospital Mr. Turner sees. At the end, the hospital kids open their presents and Marcus notices that David didn't have a gift so he gives him his and when Vince and Erin see Marcus's gift laying on the floor and asks him while he hasn't opened it. Marcus tells them he gave it to David Nettles but Erin informs Marcus that David passed away in the hospital last Christmas which is why the youth wing is dedicated to his name. Marcus then replies by telling them it was probably an angel.

Ruth being a fantastic cook and baker, decides to bake cupcakes for a birthday party. When a restaurant owner tastes them, he becomes completely delighted and tells Ruth to bake 2,000 cupcakes for his restaurant by the next two days and he will pay her a big profit. Ruth isn't really up for it at first, but when Vince finds out how much money she will be making he immediately wants to join in and urges the others to join in as well. After long hours of baking, the family including Kyle begin to get tired but Vince keeps pushing them. The family becomes so irritable that they start throwing food items at each other thus ruining the process and not delivering the orders in on time.

Not wanting to waste money on an exterminator, Vince gets the help of Kyle oblige to catch the mouse themselves. And during the process it turns out that there is a complete family of mice in the house. Trying to catch them Vince and Kyle nearly ruin the house and they have to move out for awhile until the mice are out.

Kyle welcomes new Atlanta Falcons player Caleb who is just as good as Kyle is and they become really good friends. Later on at practice, while talking to some of his teammates and Vince, they tell him that Caleb is gay and he is very surprised and does not believe him. Later on that day, Caleb's boyfriend, Luke comes to pick up Caleb from practice to confront Kyle about spending so much time with Caleb. In shock, Kyle assures him that there is nothing going on between him and Caleb and that he is a happily straight man. When Caleb and Kyle go to the gym together and Kyle starts to notice the way he acts and he kicks him out in subtle way. The next day, Caleb is mad because Kyle is treating him differently because he's gay so Caleb stops being friends with him and Caleb and Kyle's quarrel costs them the game. Kyle talks with his best friend Vince about the situation and even though Vince himself doesn't condone homosexuality working with some students who are gay and being a male teacher who works with other male teachers who are often times gay, he still thinks that Caleb shouldn't be treated any different because he is still a human. Kyle talks to Caleb and apologizes and they agree that they can still be friends as long as Caleb doesn't take it too far.

Vince has been avoiding going to the dentist for years and he always comes up with some scheme to get out of going. Monica, Ruth, Erin, Savannah and Kyle come up with a plan to get Vincent to the dentist. Savannah pretends to break her tooth so that her dad can take her to the dentist. When he takes her to the dentist, Savannah reveals to him that she was faking it and that she tricked him to taking her to the dentist. Ruth, Monica, Kyle, and Erin then make their appearance and as Vincent starts to fight Erin, Monica, and Kyle off, with Ruth and Savannah holding him back, Savannah actually breaks her tooth, Ruth gets a sprained nose, Kyle gets a black eye, Monica twists her hand, and Erin breaks her nail. So in the end, Vince and Savannah both have to go the dentist. Vince is put on nitrosoxide gas to make her say funny things, and Savannah starts talking funny.

For her black history project, her teacher Mr. Nelson assigns the class one person notable in Black History to dress up as and also talk about them. Savannah and her friends don't really take the project very seriously. The next day when it's time for everyone to present and as Savannah is walking to school she gets caught in a storm and then is thrown to her school and sees all her friends and everything is different. Her black friends aren't hanging with her white friends and she doesn't know why. Mr. Nelson, her black history teacher is now a janitor and Mr. Shelly who is a white a janitor is now her history teacher. When Savannah returns home she realizes that the storm pushed her back fifty years prior to where she is now in 1965 during the Civil Rights Movement. When Savannah's white friend, Jenny needs help with something she invites her over fearfully. The next day, they show up to class as friends and sit in the front of the class which is against the rules in the 60s. They then take a stand and the entire class stands with them. A riot and protest breaks out in the school leading Savannah to recite the famous "I Have a Dream" speech given by Martin Luther King, Jr. when she does this she wakes up and tells all her friends and family about the dream and everything is back to normal. Savannah now has a newfound appreciation of Black History Month and black leaders.

Kyle is put on bed rest for the next two weeks and Erin feels very, very bad about it while Kyle says it was no big deal. While in his bed nursing him, Erin vents her appreciation and guilt for Kyle and as Kyle tries to comfort her, Erin gets touched and kisses him and as they kiss, Vince walks in.

After Kyle saves Erin’s life from getting hit by a taco truck, he gets severely injured and is put on bed rest and when Erin sees how he went out his way to save her life she shows her appreciation by kissing Kyle and when Vince walks in and sees them kissing, Erin is embarrassed and leaves while Kyle is over the moon and Vince being Erin's big brother and Kyle's best friend doesn't know how to feel about it. After Kyle is still on crutches but able to go to physical therapy, Erin is helping him around and they begin dating. Kyle is very happy because he finally got Erin to be his girlfriend after working so hard to get her but Vince crushes his dreams and tells him that Erin isn’t in love Kyle, she’s only in love with what he did. Kyle doesn’t believe him at first but he starts to agree with him the more he ponders. When he goes to talk to Erin, he tells her that they shouldn’t be together not until Kyle gets better because Erin doesn’t love him like she thinks she does. Kyle tells her she’s just there to help Kyle out get better because she feels guilty. Erin rebuttles and tells him that the accident made her fall in love with him because it finally opened her eyes to see how great of a guy he truly is and how much he really loves her. All of that makes her want to be with someone who she knows really, really wants to be with her and she’s stupid if she doesn’t see it. Hearing that makes Kyle feels better and confirm that they are a couple and continue their relationship.

Vince and Erin realize that they have a great aunt named Carol who is eighty years old through their mother but also learns that they do not speak to each other any more. So the Smart Siblings go to meet Aunt Carol to find out what happened. After they meet, they learn that she loves music and dancing. Carol convinces her niece and nephew to sneak her out of the nursing home. When they go to the jazz club, Vince and Erin learn that Aunt Carol loves to dance a little too much when she causes a dance battle in the club. Afterwards, Erin and Vince invite Carol over to end their argument and discovers the reason they hated each other was because when Ruth took dance lessons, Carol was his dance teacher and while attempting to make Ruth a better player, she ended up humiliating her in front of the dance team. Carol and Ruth then realize that life is too short to be having issues with someone and they are both too old to be holding grudges so they decide to put it away which really pleases Vince and Erin.

When preparing to fly down to Cleveland to celebrate the 90th Birthday of Lillian Washington, Ruth's mother, Vince and Erin's grandmother, and Savannah's great-grandmother, and two weeks before her birthday party as they prepare to get everything prepared for the trip, Ruth gets the call from her brother Eugene saying that Lillian has passed away. Ruth is very sad to hear this news and the people that are the most sad her children and daughter-in-law but Ruth seems to keep a straight face and everyone is concerned because she has yet to cry and show much emotion to it considering that it was her mother. When the Smarts and Kyle fly to Cleveland for the funeral, everyone is sad and shed tears but Ruth who tries to remain as happy as possible for the sake of her family members and when they return to Lillian's house in which she grew up in, Ruth is socializing with everyone and Vince, Monica, and Erin notice that Ruth isn't acting herself and they try to talk to her to see how she's doing she assures them she's perfectly fine and that she shouldn't worry about her. When Ruth goes up to her old bedroom and has memories of her as a child with her mother, she immediately breaks down hollering saying she wishes she would come back. When she breaks down, her family comes in to console her.

Vince decides to sign the family up for Karaoke and tries to get all of them to do an act to enter the best karaoke impersonation competition. This fun activity turns left when the ladies begin disagreeing. Monica and Savannah have different ideas than Ruth and Erin and it makes it real awkward on Vince. The four ladies decide to split up into two teams of two and expect Vince to be on one of the teams. Feeling conflicted about whether to choose his wife and daughter over mother and sister, he decides to go behind their back and try to be on both teams which is unsuccessful especially on the night of the performance when they see what he is doing he tells them it was hard for him to choose and performs a solo song to apologize to them and tell him how he feels and from this performance Vince is crowned winner of the contest.

Lately, Monica has been voluntarily paying for more things than usual and Vince begins to grow tired of it so he goes out his way to over-spend everything and when Monica gets the billing statement and asks why the charges have been so high he admits the it was because as the father, husband, brother, and son he felt it was his responsibility to provide for the needs in the house. Monica is upset at his sexist attitude and assures him that as long as they are husband and wife, Vince won't have to carry the burden alone of providing for the family.

With Erin and Kyle being a new couple, it causes Erin to be in the spotlight because Kyle is a one of the NFL's best players and a very prominent celebrity in the media and Atlanta. Erin starts to like being in the limelight but eventually the attention and fame get to her head when she realizes someone is always watching and waiting for her every move and misses having a life to herself. She comes to terms with herself and reluctantly and hesitantly breaks up with Kyle because the celebrity life is too much for her, even though she really does like him and she's never had a boyfriend like him before. Kyle immediately begs her to reconsider her decision and tells her that it's something she'll eventually not let bother her and if she truly loves him the way she says, then she'll let it pass. Kyle also promises that he'll do better fighting the paparazzi off in public. After vouching his love for Erin and that he doesn't want to lose her, Erin accepts his truth and agrees they will work it out.

Vince has been dealing with this new student named Stephanie Bennett who is trying to adjust to King High School and Atlanta as a whole and hands no one to talk to. Vince's kindness is received well and really helps Stephanie in her adjustment and send him emails from an anonymous source, about how much she appreciates him for all he's done and has helped her and he responds to her. When Monica sees Vince's laptop open, and sees the email threads pop up she jumps to conclusion and goes out her way to confront this suspicious admirer of Vince's and when she sees Stephanie's name of the envelope from her transcript from her former school, she sees her address on the postage stamp and goes to her house to get the real story before going to Vince she opens the door and sees Stephanie and her parents open the door. When Monica sees that Stephanie is only in high school and explains the context of the messages, Monica feels really embarrassed and apologizes to Stephanie and her parents. When Monica returns home, Vince awaits her knowing what she did ready to make fun of her because of how she acted and Monica apologizes and promises to always trust him first before she jumps to conclusions.

Monica's younger sister of two years Jennifer comes to town and visit for their convention with some sad news that she and her husband have divorced. Jennifer is very down about it and Monica tries to console her. Later one night, while Vince is in the garage, Jennifer comes out to talk to him about her issues and taking advantage of Vince's kindness she kisses him. Vince releases from her and runs off seeing that Savannah saw him. Savannah doesn't say anything to him she acts like she didn't see it. From there on, keeping the secret from Savannah is very hard and Vince keeps his distance and asks very awkward toward Jennifer until she leaves. As soon as she leaves, Savannah blurts out what happened and angry Monica makes a threatening advance toward her as she prepares her to take her to the airport.

Kyle and Erin are invited to be guests the new nationally-syndicated morning talk show The Rickey Smiley Show, hosted by actor, comedian, radio personality, and Atlanta resident, Rickey Smiley. Erin is hesitant to make an appearance that public but Vince basically forces her to go on and everyone preps her on what to say. Vince secretly wishes to be on the show with them but agrees to act calm and sit in the audience with Monica, Ruth, and Savannah. On the day of the show, Erin and Kyle introduces Rickey Smiley to the family and Vince is very starstruck and keeps trying to find ways to come up on the show. When the show begins to tape, Erin and Kyle handle the situation very well and asks the questions perfectly and the audience loves them but Vince continuously interrupts having to keep ask questions and wanting to be on camera embarrassing everyone. When Erin mentions her family, Rickey invites her family on stage much to Vince's pleasure and over does his cameo appearance and starts speaking for everyone and then unintentionally offends Rickey Smiley getting them kicked off the set. Vince feels guilty for ruining the experience and Kyle's publicist crafts the perfect apology with a gift and after Kyle tells Vince no more TV appearances, when he gets the call to be on the View with Erin and her family, he changes his mind and allows him the opportunity one last time.

Vince, Monica, and Ruth leave the house to take Ruth to her high school class reunion for the weekend, leaving Erin in charge of Savannah. But when Savannah accidentally breaks her mother's expensive lamp that was a wedding gift to her, they need money to replace it and when Erin doesn't have the money and when Kyle offers to pay for it, Erin stops him because she know she can never pay him back has it so Kyle and Savannah decide to turn the house into a bed and breakfast to earn money. Though Erin initially disagrees, she later agrees because they need money and agree to keep quiet from Vince and Monica, but only if she is treated like a hotel guest and also pay people to get pictures with Kyle and tour his house. Kyle later invites college and high school students, who seemed nice at first but turns out to be mad college freaks. Erin wants them out of the house, but Kyle and Savannah enjoys it until one of the kids ruin Savannah's project and then joins in getting the people out the house. Eventually Erin, Kyle, and Savannah succeed in getting them out before Vince, Ruth, and Monica come home in time to replace the lamp. However, they realize what happened when Monica notices the lamp doesn't have the engraving of her and Vince's initials.

In part one of the two-part season two finale of ‘’Outsmarted’’, Vince is rewarded a Caribbean Cruise Getaway for the family. When he announces the news of the cruise everyone is excited and prepares to go with Kyle as well when a free space pops up. His plans for the cruise is for everyone to spend some time quality together as a family, something they haven't done in a while but as soon as they get aboard everyone separates and goes their separate ways. Later that night, while the cruise life is very quiet and most of the passengers are asleep, different members of the Smart family leave their cabins and go to the deck to watch the ocean. One by one they all find themselves on a boat and as the woman are all arguing, Savannah accidentally presses the button that will make the lifeboat take them from cruise ship sailing them in the ocean. With Kyle who is left behind on the boat looks for everyone is. When sailing on sea, they all start panicking and arguing again and things take a turn for the worse when a group of sharks show up around them attacking Vince.

In part two of the two-part season two finale of ‘’Outsmarted’’, after Vince has taken his bickering wife, mother, sister, daughter, and unexpectedly his best friend and neighbor on a cruise for relaxation, they find themselves drifting from the cruise ship onto a lifeboat in the middle of the ocean with sharks about to attack mainly targeting for Vince. As Vince is sinking in the ocean, his family is trying their hardest to pull him back in the boat to save him life. When Vince is eventually rescued he thanks them for saving his life while the forever arguing women in his life, Monica, Ruth, Erin, and Savannah continue to argue about who's fault it is and who got him in the situation. Elsewhere, Kyle is worried to death about where everyone is and when he checks the security cameras on the boat, he sees them go off board and immediately puts the boat in emergency mode and goes out on a life boat trying to find them. The Smart ladies begin to argue again when they can't agree on which direction they should go in for land. Vince tries to maintain peace among the females but he realizes none of them are listening to him. Eventually, they find land but instead of talking and trying to find a way to get back to the cruise ship they all try doing things on their own which doesn't get them nowhere because everyone keeps arguing. Vince grows tired of them arguing so much that he sails back to shore themselves and leaves them on the island and has them find their own way back. As Vince sails back, Kyle has sailed to the land and finds everyone but Vince who has left and he tries to help them get back to land. When Kyle tells them that arguing won't make it any better which explains why Vince left them on the island and why he brought them on the trip in the first place. Hearing this from Kyle, Ruth, Monica, Erin, and Savannah realize they have been a huge pain and try to put their heads together to find away to get back on land with the help of Kyle. They get the idea to build a hot air balloon that will float them back on the cruise and indeed it does. As Vince is preparing to call for help, he is surprised and happy that his family has finally and actually stopped bickering and worked together to get back and thanks Kyle for what he said to help them. Now they can finally enjoy what's left of their cruise getaway.

In the season three premiere of Outsmarted, after the Smarts have traveled on a Caribbean Cruise Getaway with Kyle that almost turned into near-death experience, it is time that they must return home back to Atlanta but trying to leave the boat is a challenge because Vince is trying to get them to leave in time before the boat sails with the new quests and so they can make their flight but they all have these different distractions. Erin doesn't want to leave because she wants to get the perfect picture by the boat with the help of her niece Savannah, Kyle doesn't want to leave because he is determined to win in the casino, Monica doesn't want to leave until she finds her gold bracelet, and Ruth doesn't want to leave because she wants to meet her favorite and get an autograph from her favorite actor, Samuel L. Jackson. Vince frustrates himself trying to get them to hurry it up before they miss their flight. Eventually, Savannah takes the perfect picture of Aunt Erin, Monica finds her bracelet, Kyle wins at the casino, and Ruth finally met and got an autograph and a picture with Samuel L. Jackson and is mesmerized. In the end, they make their flight and safely return home.

In the new football season for the Falcons, Vince has gotten season tickets from Kyle and plans to attend every single game possible in the season. Vince attends almost every game and even some practices when he's allowed and every time he attends a game, the team wins. Vince attends three games and they win, and when Vince misses two game, the team loses. When Vince attends a game but then walks out the stadium for a quarter, the team gets down by many points but when he returns they get up by many points. Kyle starts to think that Vince may be the team's good luck charm and starts to really depend on Vince for the wins. When Savannah has a piano recital on the same day as Kyle's big game that will determine if they have a chance in making it to the semi-playoffs Kyle really needs Vince to go to the game so they can pull a win and he'll pay him and make it up to Savannah if he goes. Vince battles with this and when he considers going to the game, Savannah's teacher tells her how great she is doing and Savannah tells Vince that she is performing a piece in honor of her father and when the guilt sets in for Vince that he can't miss his daughter's day, he tries to do both at once. Vince is really antsy on the day of the game and recital and tries to watch the game on his phone will watching the recital and when Savannah goes up to perform, Kyle interrupts him during halftime calling to see where he is but he hangs up the phone to see Savannah perform. Vince is very happy and proud of his daughter Savannah and immediately after her recital they head to to the Falcons game during the 4th quarter when it is almost over and when Vince arrives, Kyle makes the winning touchdown for them to win. Kyle is very happy and so is Vince and in the end Kyle thanks him for all he's done but he doesn't need the good luck anymore, he just needs to believe more in himself and his team.

Halloween has rolled around and Vince's plan is to scare everyone in the house. This plan does indeed work so to get him back everyone tries scaring Vince but all of their attempts fail. Growing tired of him not being scared, Monica dares Vince to spend the night in the night in the attic that he has deemed haunted ever since they moved in. Vince accepts and the rest of the family joins in including Kyle. On Halloween night, everyone packs up their things and spends the night in the attic, nothing weird starts to happen but the atmosphere is very scary and it creeps everyone out except Vince. Soon enough, abnormal things start happening and it terrifies everyone but Vince. However, Vince starts to get frightened when each one of his family members start disappearing in thin air. When he is left alone, he starts hearing demonic voices saying they will take him away. He starts screaming and asking for help and when he does this everything stops and the family members come from out the dark laughing at him. Vince is confused and he realizes the entire thing was a prank concocted by the members of his family to prove that even Vince gets scared by something.

Savannah's English teacher that Vince used to work with named Mr. Anderson, unfairly marks her test wrong and refuses to correct it, and Savannah winds up getting a grade deduction by snapping the point on his pencil out of frustration. Things get even worse when Vince takes matters in his own hands by putting him in a garbage can and spinning him around campus. Now Vince must apologize to Mr. Anderson. When Mr. Anderson comes over to the Smarts House for his apology he makes a derogatory comment toward his mother, wife, and sister and becomes irritated and starts chasing him around the house making Mr. Anderson very frightened and running out of the house. Making the situation for Savannah much worse than what it already was.

Vince is trying to deal with high blood pressure and his wife and mother insist him to go to the doctor, but instead of listening to his doctor, he takes waiting room advice ("3–2–1, 1–2–3, what the hell is bothering me?"). His waiting room advice begins to work for whenever he gets stressed out but it is put to the test when one of his students begin to drive him crazy causing Vince to suffer a mild health scare. After seeing Vince's health scare, Monica is afraid of what will happen if Vince doesn't start taking care of himself properly. She is not ready to lose him and she loves him very much and wants him to stick around for as much as possible. Vince admits that he doesn't feel like doing all the sacrifices the doctor told him to do but Monica, Ruth, Erin, and Savannah all agree to help him in his health conditions.
536"Kyle Gives Up"October 24, 2013304

Kyle is very stressed and has a lot of pressure on him as the NFL southern conference playoffs are arriving and Kyle's coaches and teammates are hoping he would lead the team to victory. When there is only nine seconds left in the game and when the Falcons needs five points to win the game, Kyle is given the ball and he doesn't know who to throw it at or to run the ball to the end zone and when he decides to run it he is tackled and loses the game. The fans and almost the city of Atlanta are very upset that they lost the game and everyone except his friends and family Kyle for ruining the game and talking trash about him. Kyle feels so defeated and hurt by losing, he decides to give up football on together because he feels that he's not good at it like he thought he is. His friends try to encourage him to continue his dreams but he doesn't listen. Monica's cousin famous retired NFL Cornerback, Deion Sanders, who played for the Atlanta Falcons and is one of Kyle's favorite players is in town for a charity fundraiser and Monica and Vince get Deion to talk to Kyle and when they brings Kyle to the Falcons stadium to see Deion there he is absolutely stunned and Deion comes to tell him that he has seen his tapes and is highly impressed and has come to tell him to not give up. Deion tells him the greatest football players are the ones that gets their team to lose. Because their comeback and determination to win is incomparable and will make them better. Kyle takes the advice from one of his favorite NFL players and decides to continue playing football they then run drills and play catch with the football.

When Ruth picks Savannah up from school, she meets Savannah's principal who is trying to find a replacement science teacher on short notice when Savannah's original science teacher has quit. Ruth voices that she taught 6th Grade science for many years before she retired and the principal gives her the substitute job off bat. Savannah doesn't know how she feels about the situation but she believes it will work in her favor. On the first day of Ruth's teaching job, Ruth is very tough on Savannah but easier on the other students and it's embarrassing for Savannah because that's her grandmother. Savannah doesn't understand why Ruth is being so tough on her and after a week she has had enough. With the help of Savannah's friends, they begin to try to get rid of Ruth as a science teacher but it's too late when the principal decides to give her the permanent job. Savannah then tries to come up with a way for Ruth to get fired and when the principal sees Ruth's class act very unruly he fires her and Ruth's overhears Savannah and her friends overjoy about her being fired and is very hurt and upset with Savannah. Back at home, Savannah gives a tearful apology to her grandmother and says that the only reason she wanted to get rid of her because she missed her grandma being her grandma instead of her teacher. Ruth tells Savannah that she only was hard on her because she expects the most out of her but she apologizes for forgetting that she is her grandmother first. Ruth admits that she remembered why she retired because of the school lunch. In the end, Ruth and Savannah make up and Ruth goes back to retirement.

Vince make sure he has everything squared away ahead of time with his family and when he does, all types of unfortunate things happen in the Smart House and it prevents them from being able to leave to get to the wedding early and on time. He tries to help his family get ready for the wedding and make sure everyone is squared away so much so that he hasn't finished getting himself ready putting them way behind schedule and making them even later than he anticipated. When Vince and the rest of the family is ready, they all leave for the wedding and when they leave Vince gets a phone call from his Aunt Janine who leaves a voicemail saying the wedding is off because Gerald's fiancee left him at the alter but it's too late because Vince and the family has already left.

On Thanksgiving when watching a football game on TV while Ruth is preparing the Thanksgiving dinner with the help of Savannah, Vince, Kyle, Monica, and Erin get the idea to play two-on-two touch football guys against girls. The game is meant to be friendly but emotions flare when boyfriend and girlfriend Kyle and Erin get very competitive in the game causing Husband and wife Vince and Monica to become irritated in an attempt to throw the game so they can eat and call it a day. Vince purposely misses Kyle's throws so Monica and Erin can get up to tie just in time to eat. When the score is tied, Erin and Kyle demand over time but Ruth and Savannah tell everyone it's time to eat and they decide to put the game away and wash up for dinner. Erin and Kyle are still mad about the game but they realize it's not important it's about being thankful for family and for having each other in their life.

Monica discovers that her husband was in a singing group back in high school called "Sir" and for his class reunion coming up she wants to reunite Vince and his former band mates to come together and perform one of their old songs for the class reunion which is in the next month. His band is very happy to get back working but they all get annoyed when they reunite with Erin. Vince's bandmates inform Monica that Erin was the reason why the band broke up because back in high school she would always interfere with their practice time and tried to squeeze her way in the group. Vince to this day is unaware of the truth behind the band's real breakup. When the reunion performance is coming up, Monica tries to ease Erin out of the group in sweet way and is very successful. At Vince's class reunion "Sir" performs their hit song from high school and everyone loves it and Erin at the end can't help herself to show boat.

On Christmas Eve in the Smart house, everyone gets to open one gift before Christmas morning. Savannah opens her gift that she received from her grandmother, Ruth. To teach her the real Christmas spirit, Vince, Monica, Erin and Kyle teach Savannah the story of when Jesus Christ was born but both versions are incorrect and very comedic because they make their stories very modern. Ruth gets irritated at her son, daughter, daughter-in-law, and her daughter's boyfriend when she sees them making a mockery out of one of the greatest moments on Earth especially Vince and Erin who she raised to know the true story. Ruth then goes on to tell how special his birth was and in the end, the entire family sings "Silent Night."

Things get worse when Larry gets the news that his beloved father passes away and he stays in the Smart household even longer than expected and he is constantly wallowing and crying until the funeral. Vince is thrilled when a relative of Larry comes to have Larry live with him which means he will have to pack his stuff and leave Atlanta being out of everyone else's hair.

After Erin's godson, Noah, suddenly bites Kyle. Erin's best friend, Tasha who is Noah's mother, tells Erin that Kyle could be hiding something because she believes dogs and babies are the best judges of character. Erin initially doesn't believe her philosophy but, one day while visiting the Falcons stadium during practice, she sees Kyle with his arm around another girl whose name is Ashley and she suspects that he is cheating on her. After yelling at him, Kyle tells her that the girl he put his arm around is his cousin who just moved from Pittsburgh who is now one of the new cheerleaders for the Atlanta Falcons. Erin then apologizes for overreacting and for a couple of days Kyle has been giving her the cold shoulder. So when Erin shows up to Kyle's practice again trying to make it up to him she sees Ashley and apologizes for her behavior because she didn't know they were cousins. But, Ashley tells her that Kyle told her that Erin was his cousin, Erin then tells her that Kyle is her boyfriend and Ashley tells her the same thing. It is during this time when both of them realize that they were being cheated on and Kyle is caught in his act.

After finding out that Kyle was cheating on her with another girl whose name is Ashley, Erin is left heartbroken and things in the Smart House house couldn't be any more awkward with Vince who is very very mad at his best friend Kyle who broke his little sister's heart. Vince being hurt from seeing his little sister in pain, he helps Erin get over her break up by sharing her feelings with Ashley (who isn't the brightest person) realizing how much they connect. When watching Waiting to Exhale, Erin gets the idea to burn all his clothes and his car in front of him, when Kyle returns to his house to see this he is furious and Vince, Monica, and Ruth are upset with Erin because they believe that she shouldn't have done that. Erin doesn't care and she is not sorry for her actions. Everyone in the house has had it with Erin's bad attitude and Kyle's sadness and they force the two to sit down and talk about it. Kyle tells Erin that he really regrets what he did and he is very sorry about it and he also asks to start over but Melanie just tells him no, never again and she goes to her room with nothing else to say. However, although Kyle may not be on good terms with Erin ever again, Vince, Monica, and Ruth see that he made a mistake and believes that he is truly sorry and they forgive him.

The father daughter dance at Savannah's school is coming up and she tries keeping it from Vince because she doesn't want to go and is afraid he will embarrass her. Her hiding it is unsuccessful when Monica brings it up to Vince who becomes very excited for the dance. Savannah tries to find ways to get out of it by faking an injury or fake being sick. When she pretends to break her leg and tells her parents she doesn't think she can attend the father-daughter-dance, which really disappoints Vince. Savannah is happy that she got out of the dance but her mother and grandmother catch her in the act and are very upset at her for what she did and Monica threatens to punish Savannah unless she goes to the dance with her father who feels really bad. Savannah sees how sad her father is and she tells him she feels better and would like to go to the father-daughter-dance. Vince is overjoyed at this news and they go to the dance and much to Savannah's surprise she has a lot of fun with her Dad and everyone thinks Vince is cool.

Vince and Erin must serve jury duty for the same trial and they are not looking forward to it at all. The terms of being on the jury is that the jurors can't discuss the trial to anyone at all which is why they must stay in a hotel until the trial is complete. While shopping in the store, Vince believes that he has met a member of the mafia who is trying to blackmail him if his friend is founded guilty. When the juror meets the next day, everyone finds the juror guilty but Todd out of fear and he keeps making them re-vote and gives poor excuses as to why the defendant should be found not guilty. Vince confidently tells Erin why he is voting guilty and she tells him that he must stop being afraid and do the right thing. When the jury collectively finds the defendant guilty, Vince hurriedly runs out of the court but the mafia man catches up with him and it turns out that Vince had the wrong assumption the man is actually a life insurance agent not a member of the mafia so Vince was worried for nothing.

During a game, Kyle becomes very upset an unruly fan taunting him and it gets so heated that Kyle gets physical with him and hurts him. The fight gets so heavy that all of America begin to hate him and the unruly fan files a lawsuit against Kyle. To mend Kyle's image especially for the Atlanta Falcons, Vince tells Kyle that he should announce a formal and live apology at a press conference and Kyle's manager and publicist agree to this and they compose the speech for him. Kyle gives the apology to the fan and to the others it offended but the unruly fan still does not accept it which greatly upsets Kyle and begs for him to forgive him. The fan blackmails Kyle into buying him things and doing things for him in order for him to not sue. But after each and every act that Kyle does, the fan is still not pleased and threatens to sue him even further if he doesn't continue. The fan gives Kyle a huge demand and if he doesn't he will increase the law suit but it compromises Kyle's integrity when it comes to Erin. Kyle thinks about what's more important for a long time and decides to not do what the fan asked and when he tells the fan this, the police arrests the fan for extortion just as he tries to set him up.

When Savannah finally gets her first period on the day after her twelfth birthday, the event elicits a spate of old wives tales from her friends and a disagreement with her Monica, Ruth, and Erin about how to celebrate Grace's special "woman's day". Meanwhile, Vince is having difficulties coming to terms with the fact that his only daughter is growing up to be a woman and is very nervous to talk to her about it so he tries avoiding it. Having already read a book on menstruation, Savannah is able to dispel her friends' outlandish claims. But, in a late night heart-to-heart talk with her mother, grandmother, and aunt, Savannah's real concerns about womanhood finally surface.

The more they try to remain friends, the more Kyle feels as if he is falling back in love with his ex-girlfriend and Erin but avoids telling her and tries to forget about it and not let it be because he knows she is well past over him. Kyle struggles with forgetting about his feelings when he meets Will Brooks, Erin’s charming, handsome, and intelligent new suitor who is completely different from Kyle and is one of the new doctors at Erin's hospital. Erin gets a strong liking towards him and Kyle tries to tolerate him as well. Will and Kyle begin to get along just fine until he starts seeing Will and Erin kiss and hug and talk about and do things they used to do together and Kyle’s feelings toward Will gets worse when he sees Will getting along really well with the Smart family with whom Kyle has great connections with and sees they really enjoy it. Kyle then goes out his way to make a fool of himself to over-do things that Will does so that he may impress Erin but Erin gets tired of their nonsense. Erin tells Kyle that Will is a great guy who could never replace Kyle's role in her life as a friend and that he doesn’t have to worry about losing her. Kyle still adheres to the deal they made to be friends and doesn’t admit his feelings and apologizes for being so childish. Will and Kyle make amends and Will continues to date Erin while Kyle remains single watching them.

Vince has made himself available to several duties: he promised he would take Monica and Savannah to the fair, he would take Ruth to the doctor for her appointment, and he would attend a jazz blues concert in the park with Erin. Vince doesn't mind doing all these tasks but it doesn't occur to him until the day of that all of these events take place on the same day. He is afraid to let his wife, daughter, mother, and sister down because they are all expecting him to come through and fulfill his priorities. Vince tries his best to be at all three places at the same time and creates distractions for when he must leave with the help of his best friend Kyle. Vince becomes so stressed that he gets the places confused with another and forget what's going on. The ladies begin to see what's going on and catch him in the act and when Vince tells them what he is doing they aren't upset but they just wish he had told them because it could have been worked out. Vince apologizes and they all come up with a way to do everything all at once.

Recently in the Atlanta Public Schools system, there has been a scandal in which teachers and principals in the district are being tried for cheating on state-administered standardized tests to either help students pass or make them fail. When an investigation undergoes at King High School, Vince is found in the investigation and accused of doing so. Vince is completely and utterly shocked at this because he swears he has never cheated on the student she just administers them. When his family hears this scandal, they believe him when he says he had nothing to do with it. However, the principal of King High School as well as a few teachers believe that Vince could be the culprit. Vince is highly upset especially when the principal considers firing him. Vince has had enough of the accusation against his name and is determined to clear his name and get to the bottom of who really is behind it. Vince goes back and looks at all the test and notices a correlation with the tests and notices it that they all resemble and when he compares handwriting he notices that it was the principal who made the corrections on the test and sets out to clear his name and assigns blame to the principal who denies it initially but when the surveillance cameras are played the principal is caught and is taken by the police to trial.

When there is a flu outbreak at the hospital with the patients, Erin becomes very sick and must stay at home to be nursed by everyone. Erin is a hassle to deal with because she is always needing something when she's sick. Erin's flu begins to spread to her mother and Ruth becomes just as sick as Erin making the both of them feeling very needy and helpless by Monica and Vince. When Monica is doing her best and stressing herself out trying to nurse her sister-in-law and mother-in-law she gets sick in the process and must stay home from work leaving Vince to now nurse the three sickly Smart women while trying to assist his daughter Savannah in her role as the school play. Vince is under a lot of pressure trying to look after Erin, Ruth, and Monica as they are trying to get over the flu. So much so that he doesn't have time for himself and of course he catches the flu from them just in time as Savannah has to get ready for her school play when everyone else is sick, Kyle decides to take Savannah to the school for her school play performance and does a great job. A few days pass and everyone is feeling much better where they can return to work while Vince is still greatly suffering from the flu and has no one to nurse him after he has nursed everyone else.

In part one of the two-part season three finale of Outsmarted, The Smarts travel to a ski resort in the mountains of Denver, Colorado with Erin's new boyfriend, Will and ex-boyfriend Kyle who already paid for his tickets before they broke up. On this ski trip a lot of events take place, a psychic tells Erin that on this ski trip she will realize who her true love is and the answer will not appear clear. Erin ponders over this but ignores it. Meanwhile, Savannah goes over the bill in the room so her parents punish her by staying in the room until further notice. Meanwhile, Ruth meets this Swedish figure-skater who is the same age as her and excellent in ice-skating and being jealous Ruth tells them that she is a reigning ice-skating champion back home so the other married couple challenge them to compete in the ski resort ice-skating competition. Later, while Savannah is in her room she hears word of a murderer and believes it to be the manager. When she tries telling her mother and father, Vince and Monica doesn't believe her until they sees for themselves and they all become terrified. Meanwhile, Kyle is very jealous of Erin and Will and he always finds himself competing with Will to impress Erin but Erin pays him no attention. Before heading to dinner with Will, Kyle professes his love for Erin saying that he wants them to get back together and as Erin tries to budge he kisses her. Will sees them kiss and is shocked and upset.

In part one of the two-part season three finale of Outsmarted, after the Smart family including Kyle and Will, Erin's new boyfriend plus have traveled to Denver, Colorado to a ski resort for their vacation, they are faced with different obstacles. The most trying ordeal is when Kyle tries to get his ex-girlfriend Erin back by kissing her and when Will walks in and sees them kiss Will is furious and breaks up with Erin. Erin is very upset because Will ruined her relationship but she starts to contemplate who she wants because the kiss made her remember how much she loved Kyle. Meanwhile, Ruth must compete in a figure skating competition once she becomes jealous of this Swedish figure-skater. She works very hard to seem professional and to win. Surprisingly, despite her struggles, she wins the ice-skating competition backing up her trash talk and proving the ice-skating guru a thing or two. While on punishment, Savannah eavesdrops on the maid talking about the latest murder in the ski resort and she believes it was the manager. Savannah has confirmation that this was true and when she tells Vince and Monica they think she's being ridiculous but soon enough they believe her and try to catch the manager. When they catch him, they kidnap him and ties them up in the basement but luckily the police comes in at the nick of time and arrests the manager. In addition, Erin tries her hardest to get Will to talk to her but has been ignoring her throughout the whole trip and Kyle has been trying to talk to Erin about the kiss who has been ignoring him feels awkward after the kiss. Erin finally tells Kyle that she still loves him very, very much but she can't go through the hurt again and while talking to Will, who decides to give her a chance, she tells him that she jumped back in to the relationship mindset too fast and she still needs to focus on herself and what she wants and that Will is too good of a man to not have a woman who will love him the way he deserves to be loved. A bit heartbroken and upset, Will understands and want nothing but happiness for her. So in the end, neither Kyle or Will end up being with Erin thus proving the psychic's claim that Erin will find her true love while on the trip to be false.

In the season four premiere of Outsmarted, Kyle is still very determined to get Erin back and will do whatever has to do to prove to her that he will never hurt her again so he makes the decision to propose to her. Meanwhile, ever since they returned from the ski trip Monica has been feeling very weird and when Ruth suggests that Monica could be pregnant she doesn't believe her but when she takes the pregnancy test, she is shocked to find out that she is indeed pregnant but struggles with how to tell Vince who seems very very busy. Kyle struggles with asking Erin for her hand in marriage. Whenever he tries to sit down and talk with her, she comes up with an excuse to avoid him. Each time Monica tries telling Vince and each time Kyle tries telling Erin, something or someone is always preventing them from doing so. Both Kyle and Monica become so frustrated that they accidentally reveal the news of the pregnancy and accidentally asks for marriage while they're all having a discussion about something completely different in one room at the same time and both couples are shocked at what was said. When Erin hears Kyle blurt it out she is touched and asks him to propose to her the way he had planned. When he does this, she starts crying and accept his proposal. When Vince realizes what Monica said, he shouts for joy. Therefore, a wedding and a baby are on the way in the Smart house.

Monica decides to participate in the Atlanta Mother-Daughter Beauty Pageant with her daughter Savannah that Kyle is hosting. Savannah is reluctant because she doesn't like the idea of pageants but she finds out that her best friend Destiny and her mother, Regina are participating. Savannah sees how much fun Destiny and her mother have in it so she decides to go ahead and do it with her mothers because it will be fun. Erin and Ruth also decide to participate with Monica and Savannah and it becomes a friendly competition with them all. At first, the two Smart mother-daughter duos are having fun Monica and Erin start to go to the extreme during the competition by sabotaging and trash-talking all the other contestants including themselves. Meanwhile, Kyle is nervous about hosting and Shawn helps him overcome it. On the day of the competition, Monica and Erin start getting so consumed with the competition that they forget about Savannah and Ruth. Ruth and Savannah grow tired of Monica and Erin's actions and they show it on the stage ruining their talent act. When they go backstage, Vince sees what is going on and talks to his wife and sister about their behavior and how it's affecting his mother and daughter. Erin and Monica see how much they have upset Ruth and Savannah and realize all the damage they have done and apologizes to them letting it get the best of them. In the end, Destiny and Regina win the Mother Daughter Pageant for the fifth consecutive year.

Erin's buys her fiancee a Foosball machine for his birthday, something he has always wanted. When Kyle beats Erin in a round, he plays her again and he still comes out as the victor. Then he later plays a round against, Savannah, Ruth, and Monica who he all defeats and when he defeats them all he gets besides himself and starts getting a big head. They all try playing him again and he still beats them. After growing tired of Kyle's gloating, recalling him talk about how good he is at the game, they all beg Vince who has been very busy to play a round against Kyle, who has been avoiding playing Foosball machine ever since an incident when he was in college where he became addicted to it. Initially, Vince continues to not play against Kyle but he decides to play him because he grows tired of Kyle's attitude as well. When he does this, Kyle defeats him at first but then Vince asks for a rematch and he completely mops Kyle who is left shocked.

Savannah is enticed by a friend at school to put make up on. Savannah's mother, Monica had always had a strict policy about wearing make-up and other cosmetics. The rules is that she is not allowed to wear make up until she is fifteen years old. But she puts it on anyway to get the attention of a boy and thinks that it will be okay. She says she will only take it off once she gets home. But when the boy walks her home she completely forgets that she has it on. And Monica, grounds her for doing so. The next day, she wears it again but this time promises to not forget to take it off once she goes home. But when Monica comes to the school to drop off her lunch, she is caught in the act again and when Savannah comes home Monica yells at Savannah for going behind her back and disobeying her twice. Savannah replies back and tells her that she is growing up and Monica isn't letting her. Monica then apologizes and admits that she is afraid of her growing up and she decides that instead of waiting until she is fifteen she is going to let Savannah wear make up now but only for very special occasions.

Vince talks to one of his students named Jordan, with whom Vince connects after learning he is a military child like he used to be. Vince talks to his mother, who tells her that Jordan's birthday is coming up. Vince decides to throw him a party with the school and some faculty, but Jordan gets upset and runs off. His mother explains that Jordan misses his father, serving in the military, and hasn't been the same since he left. So Vince calls the First Lady of the United States Michelle Obama and gets her to fly Jordan's father home for his birthday. Vince and his family, Jordan's family, some faculty and students from King High School and Michelle Obama have a party at King High School. Vince knows the First Lady personally because he met her during a field trip to the White House he went on with his students in the previous year.

She hates it on her until Tyler Fields, her crush, compliments her on her new look. Suddenly she's in love with her new straight-hair and even contemplates getting a relaxer. Monica, really concerned about her daughter's decision, talks it over with Vince and decides it time to have that "other" important talk mothers have with their daughters. Vince and Monica wait until Tyler comes over to stage a performance. Monica pretends to be a Stepford wife, dusting, cooking and totally catering to her man. She downplays her accomplishments and career and focuses solely on Vince and his needs. Savannah grows angry at the antics but realizes she should never have to change for a man. The next day Tyler confirms this affirmation with an "I always liked you."

Lately, social networks and social media has taken over the Smart family in multiple aspects. The main way being that the family interaction is something that no longer occurs in the house. Vince gets annoyed at how the social media is taking over their life so he calls himself blocking all of it in the house but it doesn't work. Eventually, while on the internet Vince finds himself on a social network and becomes very captivated and interested and starts to fall under the spell like his relatives. His family members see him and don't like how it's taking over his life and they begin to realize the point he was trying to make. So they all help Vince with his addiction and in the end all of them decrease their time of social media for family time.

But, the homeless family is not what they seem, as the Smarts and Kyle will soon learn. When Kwanzaa is over with, they go to the homeless shelter to find them but they find a Granger family but they are a different race with the same names and same predicament. In the end, the Grangers realize that they are angels.

An excited and worried Vince is trying his best to prepare for the birth of his new baby girl or baby boy. Monica wants to make sure her figure stays in tact and that she's eating all the right foods and exercising as much as possible while her husband thinks it's best for her to sit down and not do any rigorous activities. Monica listens to him but she's never been the kind of person to just sit down and do nothing. She continues working until it is time for her to have the baby but she starts feeling stressed when her job commands so much of her and Vince and other members of the family's overwhelming of baby talk. From all the pressure, Monica faints and her family rushes her to the hospital. Everyone is waiting to see what's wrong with Monica and when Vince walks in to check on Monica, the doctor informs them that Monica has suffered a miscarriage. Monica is very heartbroken by this and Vince trying to console her and not show feelings tells her everything will be alright and when he walks out the hospital he breaks down and throws away the teddy bear he was making for the baby.

It turns out that they were rivals back as children and have never liked each other and when they find out that they’re children are marrying them, they demand the two cancel the wedding. Kyle and Erin are very, very confused and sad. Kyle’s mother explains to him that she hates Ruth because Ruth was always chosen at everything over her when sometimes Vivian worked harder for it. Erin’s mother explain to her that she hates Vivian for always stealing every good thing that came to Ruth. Erin and Kyle secretly see each other throughout the weekend and they try to come up with a plan to get them on board so with the help of Vince and Paul they lie to their mothers and lock them in a room to talk about their problems. This plan doesn’t work and their children become very upset to the point where they don’t want to talk to them again and when the feuding mothers see their kids so upset they decide to let bygones be bygones and put away old drama from 40 years ago that doesn’t mean anything today and let their children be together. Because despite the issues between Vivian and Ruth, they see that the children were raised right and love each other and they remember how that felt so they decide continue to let them be together and agree to try tolerating each other.

Erin wants to wear it for her wedding, Monica wants to pawn it and spend it to expand her wardrobe, Ruth wants to pawn it and use the money to buy some more china, Kyle wants to pawn it and use the money and get a motorcycle, Savannah wants to pawn it and buy herself an electric guitar, while Vince thinks that they should report it to the police. One day, Erin decides to wear it when she goes dress fitting to see how it would look for her wedding and ends up losing it right when the owner comes looking for it. Erin and her family and fiancee freak out when they realize the necklace is lost and that they must find it immediately but Vince tells them that it was reported to the police.

When Savannah is on the verge of giving up her father Vince and grandmother Ruth encourage her to continue fighting for what she believes in after revealing their own encounters with racism. In the end, after a meeting the school passes the appeal to have black history courses effective in the next school term.

They try to outdo each other in everything Erin does and hope she notices when Erin is completely oblivious to their antics and thinks their just being nice until she overhears them talking about it and plays it to her advantage by teaching them a lesson. She purposely asks them to do several ridiculous tasks for her and alludes to being a maid of honor for each task. Her joke has gone too far where her taking advantage of them almost tears apart her friend and sister-in-law which is when she admits she was on to their game and played it back on them. She tells them that whoever she chooses doesn't mean she loves one more than the other. It turns out that she was going to choose both of them Tasha as the maid of honor and Monica as the matron of honor because she is married and couldn't just pick one. Monica and Tasha are both satisfied with this decision.

Vince is up for the esteemed award as Teacher of the Year in Atlanta, he is almost certain that he is going to receive the award this year because in the past year he's done a lot and the award is based off of teachers who are diligently working and bettering the students learning experience not only in the school but in the communities as well. On the night of the award banquet and as the presenter is about to announce the award recipient, the presenter says "Vincent" Vince jumps out of his seat and is instantly thrilled because he has finally won. He made an unusual speech because a lot was going through his head but the presenter informs Vince that he didn't win. The award recipient was named Vincent Clark. Vince was embarrassed and disappointed but he gave the plaque to Vince Clark, the real winner and he his family all head home. Ever since the banquet, Vince has been moping around the house depressed and not interacting with anyone so to help him out of his funk, the Smart family with the help of Kyle puts together a "Man of the Year" ceremony honoring Vince as a husband, son, brother, father, friend, teacher and an all-around great man. Vince is very touched by this and he happily accepts the award and the kind gesture from his family, friends, and closest students.

Kyle meets his biggest fan, Keith Hamilton at a charity event and he takes a picture with and signs his Kyle Harper Atlanta falcons jersey. Kyle is surprised to see him again at his practice but doesn't mind him being there and decides to talk to him while running and throwing the football to him. Later on, Kyle is shocked to see Keith at his house when he returns something he left at the field. Kyle lets him in the house and Keith does a lot of things to help Kyle around the house so Kyle decides to hire Keith as his personal assistant. Vince and Erin think something is up with Keith but Kyle ignores their suggestion and continues having Keith work for him. Eventually, Kyle becomes sick and also sprains his foot. Vince and Erin believe it was Keith's fault but Kyle doesn't believe them until they show him a tape of Keith's best football moments and hears that he is one of the top NFL draft picks for the Atlanta Falcons and they realize that he is trying to steal his life. When Kyle tries confront him before the game, Keith ties him up in the locker room and goes out on the field posing as Kyle. No one notices it until Vince and Erin notice that Kyle is not wearing his lucky chain and go to the locker room to find Kyle and exposes Keith in front of the whole stadium and is arrested for impersonation and theivery.

The Smart-Harper wedding is vastly approaching and Erin is very worried about making sure her wedding is absolutely perfect and that every detail is perfect. Kyle wants to go on a trip with Erin before they get married to enjoy the last few weeks of being unmarried. Erin though however can't concentrate on her actually union just the wedding and wants Vince to record all the moments of the wedding preparations. When things start to not go Erin's way she lashes out and becomes very very irritated with everyone including her fiancee and growing tired of her mean attitude Erin's wedding staff quits and abandons her leaving Erin to plan the wedding all by herself and she starts to lash out on her family who eventually leaves her high and dry. When Erin is ready to go on the trip with Kyle, Kyle says he cancelled the trip because Erin could not settle down to talk about the trip so their reservations were denied. Vince then shows Erin the footage from her planning the wedding and sees how rude she has been and completely changes her attitude and apologizes to the staff, her family, and her fiancee. They accept her apology and decide to continue the wedding plans.

While in the park taking selfies, Leo a photographer captures Savannah's beauty and immediately wants to take pictures of it. He sends the images to a local modeling agency and they want to call in Savannah for a photo shoot so she can be on the cover of a very popular teen magazine. When she is landed the cover of the magazine she asked to model in the New York Fashion Week. She is astounded and excited by this news and she gladly accepts the invitation and heads to New York with her mother, grandmother, and aunt for fashion week. Backstage she meets her favorite supermodel, Tyra Banks and she talks to her telling her to do her best. At the end of the fashion show, Tyra asks her to stay in New York with her so they can model together and she can help her with her career. Although, Savannah really enjoys modeling and it's the chance of a lifetime she doesn't want to leave home. She battles with this decision and decides to stay home with her family.

While everyone is out on a Saturday morning, Vince and Monica stay behind as their new brass headboard arrives for their bed. Vince persuades Monica to have sex with him before he important presentation and to try out their new headboard and after trying to resist she falls for it and when they are in the midst of making love, Monica winds up getting her head stuck in the headboard and not being able to get out. A panicking Vince and Monica do not know what to do and have tried multiple methods of getting the headboard off. Ruth, Erin, Savannah, and Kyle arrive home from running errands and they laugh and record Monica and help Vince with getting the headboard from around Monica's neck before her presentation. Kyle uses his blowtorch to get most of it off but it still won't do. Erin gets the idea of Monica wearing a big ridiculous wig to cover up for her. Monica ends up making a fool of herself during her presentation and when her wig comes off, the client commends Monica's confidence and grit and grants her the funding for the school. He then gives her the number to a welder because he and his wife had the same problem with the same headboard.

As the wedding between Kyle and Erin is days away, as the best man Nick Shaw who is Kyle's half brother decides to throw Kyle, a bachelor party and at the bachelor party a drunken Nick reveals to Kyle that he recalls having the best sex of his life with Erin years ago just as Erin pops–out of the cake in a surprise. Kyle and Erin argue over Todd's revelation, while Shawn argues with Todd and questions their friendship and also questions if he wants to marry Candace resulting Kyle to cancel the wedding, until Kelly, Kyle's older sister who also returns for the upcoming wedding tells Erin that Kyle hasn't always done the "one-man show" and reveals one of his liasons. Erin contacts Danielle Dawson, who he had a quick fling with Kyle one year before she and Erin started their relationship, to confront him. Kyle and Erin finally sit down and talk realize that the past is the past for the reason. Erin explains that it happened before she even met Kyle way before she met Kyle and didn't even know they were brothers. Nick and Erin both apologize to Kyle for keeping such a big secret from him like that for all those years. Kyle accepts and when he realizes that despite all of that, he still loves Erin and still believes that she is right woman for him, he resumes the wedding and but decides to let Vince be the best man because he feels more comfortable if the best man didn't have sex with the bride. Vince is very honored at this and accepts.

In part one of the two-part season four finale of Outsmarted, the big weekend in the Smart's household has finally arrived after months of planning and worrying: Kyle and Erin's wedding. Kyle is trying to relax while Erin can't concentrate at all on one thing. On the eve of their wedding which is the rehearsal, everything is getting prepared Kyle just wants to spend some alone quiet time with his wife-to-be but Erin and is always to pre-occupied. Later, they finally get a moment's piece at the rehearsal dinner. It is also during this time during the rehearsal dinner where Kyle hears his older sister Kelly on the phone arguing with her ex-husband about letting her son meet his new girlfriend and gets so upset with him that she doesn't realize what she is saying and tells Kyle that he and Erin are way in over their heads and that marriage ruins everything. On the day of the wedding, Kyle continues calling Erin so they can talk about something serious but she doesn't answer the phone. Kyle begins to feel weird about the whole thing but he still goes through with the wedding. When the wedding begins and it's time for the vow exchange, Kyle runs out the church leaving Erin at the altar.

In part two of the two-part season four finale of Outsmarted, the long-awaited wedding day between Erin and Kyle has arrived but it's nothing of what was expected. Right before the vow exchange, Kyle gets nervous, stops thinking and runs out of the church and Erin is heartbroken ending the entire wedding. Kyle is later found in the church elevator but it's stuck and by the time Vince comes to get him out the entire wedding has ended. When he goes to the house to find her, everyone is upset with him and they don't let him in her room reluctantly lets him come in but it does nothing so she tells him that she never wants to see him again. Kelly later admits to Erin that the reason that Kyle probably ran out on her is because something she didn't mean to say to Shawn the night before the wedding. Erin is even more upset but she tries to forget about everything as she still decides to travel to the Bahamas for what was supposed to be her honeymoon between them two but she still goes to clear her head. Surprisingly, Kyle follows her because he wanted to clear his head as well. Erin is highly upset that Kyle is there but Kyle is actually happy to see her. And because of the honeymoon, they are forced to sleep in the same bed. Throughout the entire trip, Erin pays Kyle no attention until he sets up a romantic dinner on the beach apologizing for everything and asking for her hand in marriage again. Erin ponders over it but she decides to try to give it a try once again. In the end, Erin and Kyle marry on the beach in the Bahamas and they have a re-do wedding and reception back home in Atlanta with all their friends and family.

In the season five premiere of Outsmarted, after the wedding of Vince’s neighbor and best friend, NFL star, Kyle Harper and nurse Erin Smart, Vince’s younger sister, the house is rid of one resident as Erin moves in with her husband Kyle next door, much to Vince’s delight. Vince’s newfound happiness is ruined when he hears word that Kyle lost his contract to the Atlanta Falcons and no other team wants him so he cannot play football anymore and in turn loses all his most valuable possessions such as his car, jewelry and house and has to move back in Vince’s house with Erin. Vince is hesitant to this but he has no other option. Elsewhere, Ruth is worried for her doctor’s appointment because she is going to get a mammogram and to make her feel less worried Monica goes to get one as well. Both Ruth and Monica’s results for the mammogram are good but Monica discovers that she is pregnant which is a huge shock due to her miscarriage in the previous year. Living with Kyle and Erin both in the house, is a huge issue for Vince and the other members of the family mainly because of their constant sexual activities that keeps them late up at night. When they all sit down and have an intervention, Vince addresses the issues with Kyle and Erin and everyone else decides to let their issues out. Monica has been wanting to tell the news to Vince and the family but she has been avoiding it and when the doctor arrives to the Smart House to give Monica the ultrasound, everyone is shocked and Monica who is very uncomfortable breaks the news to everyone and everyone is completely surprised and happy.

Ruth does Kyle's laundry and shows him how to properly cook and clean, Erin shows her husband how to have fun and enjoy himself without spending money, Monica, who is his financial advisor watches her spending and helps her on how to spend less money on things, and Vince helps Kyle get a job somewhere. Monica catches Kyle opening mail with a credit card and discovers that he has a little money left and Monica exposes him to everyone else and forces him to pay them back not through money but through chores.

Savannah wants this brand new laptop for Christmas that she continues to beg her parents and the deny her multiple times with many excuses all tying to the birth of the new baby. Savannah is highly upset at her parents decision claiming that the new baby is ruining her life and it hasn’t even been born yet and she says she doesn’t want to have a little brother or little sister. Later on that Christmas Eve night, as she is asleep she gets awoken by Ruth, as she takes her granddaughter on Christmases in the past where Savannah was different when she was the only child and she doesn't understand the purpose. She goes back to sleep but is awoken again by her Uncle Kyle who takes her to Christmas in the present comparing her ways from the past to the present and Savannah doesn't believe him. When she tries going back to sleep, her Aunt Erin wakes her up one more time and takes her to Christmases to come showing her that if she doesn't change her ways she's going to end up alone and forgotten and the new baby will have stole all of her shine. When she wakes up from her dream on Christmas morning she apologizes to Vince and Monica for being selfish. They accept her apology and award her with the laptop she has been wanting and asking for all along.

In the midst of his football career going down the toilet, Kyle tries to find other career ventures to enter in. Vince receives word that there is a movie being filmed in Atlanta with Golden-Globe winner, and Emmy Award and Academy Award nominee, Taraji P. Henson as the lead female role and looking for a fresh new male actor to the screen opposite of her. Kyle decides to go out for the role and even though Erin is uncomfortable with her husband being in a movie with a kissing and sexual scene with a very attractive and popular actress, she accepts it because he needs the money. Kyle passes his audition and meets Taraji P. Henson on the first day of filming. He invites Erin and Vince on set to see what it’s like for a movie to be made first hand. However, Kyle begins to regret his decision of inviting his wife and brother-in-law/best friend on set because they begin to embarrass him and start taking over the director’s, producers and actors duties. The director and Taraji grow so tired of the antics that Kyle is fired and escorted off the set with Vince and Erin. Vince and Erin apologize for ruining Kyle’s chances but he admits that acting isn’t something for him.

Vince makes a new friend from the gym, Clyde Bowman, and he and Vince are just alike and Clyde is two years younger than him. They share just about all of the same similarities and they both act the same. When Vince shows a picture of his late father and meets Ruth, Clyde sees it and immediately rushes out of his home for some reason. Vince is confused as to why he did that and when he returns back to the Smart-Harper house, Clyde shares some shocking information with Vince, Ruth, and Erin: he is Vince and Erin’s brother. Vince, Ruth, and Erin are all shocked and in disbelief to this news and when Vince shows them her birth certificate it says that her father is James Smart, Date of Birth, March 21, 1948 which is the exact birthday of Vince and Erin father and they are all very, very flabbergasted and hurt when they discover that their father cheated on their mother during their marriage after Ruth reveals some truth behind their marriage when Vince and Erin were younger but she did not he had an outside child and believes that James didn’t know either. Vince then enlists the help of his FBI friend Rachel to get to the bottom of it and when she does a background check on Clyde and actually analyzes the birth certificate closely and compares it with Vince’s she notices that the dates and social security numbers aren’t the same. It was a mark on Clyde's birth certificate to make it look like March 21, 1948 when it actually said March 21, 1943. Also, the social security numbers of their father James, on Vince and Erin’s birth certificate don’t match with what’s on Clyde’s birth certificate. When Vince shows this to Clyde and the rest of the family, they realize that their father has the same name just different birthdays and social security numbers and Clyde apologizes for the misunderstanding.

With a new baby arriving, everyone realizes that the baby is need of a nursery. Not wanting to spend any money adding an extra bedroom the house, Vince and Kyle get the idea to add a bedroom using the space they already have. Their plan is to build a small little room under the staircase of the basement. Monica is completely disappointed and how the room for the new baby is. Even though they did a good job at making the little bedroom they want something much better but it's not suitable for an infant. Erin suggest just transforming her room into a nursery for the baby and letting Erin and Kyle transform the basement into their own private and personal space. Everyone agrees with this idea and in a matter of weeks, Vince and Kyle create a nice place to house Baby Smart as well as a nice space for the Harpers.

Her father is excited, but when Savannah reveals she never wanted to be Wayne in a huge outburst, Vince is dismayed and decides to fill in for Savannah at their first home basketball game, but the rival school Cobb County Middle School kidnaps Vince, thinking he was Savannah, so he attacks them and goes back to the game, where Savannah is being attacked by Cobb County Middle School's panther mascot. Vince attacks the panther and he and Savannah take down the panther together.

Savannah has claimed a wall in the neighborhood that she paints on, when she returns from school getting ready to do some more painting, she sees that this woman from New York starts painting on her wall and when she tells her stop painting and to leave it alone she doesn't listen. She starts ruining the paintings that she has drawn since she’s Iived there. She complains to her parents, grandmother, and uncle and aunt who don't seem very concerned. Late at night, the 14-year-old artist, goes and destroys the painting that the lady has started working on. The next day, she sees the same lady up and early painting again and she starts painting even more. She is highly frustrated yet highly impressed with her skill and is astounded when she sees the mural that she has created. It's a mural honoring all the African American troops and she explains that she was creating this mural for her son who died and lived in this neighborhood but served in the United States Navy. Savannah apologizes and applaud her work and what it stands for especially because her late grandfather was in the United States Military. She then invites her to her house for some lunch.

Vince decides to have a yard sale and when Erin gets a great deal on a quilt that was special to her mother Ruth, she hesitantly takes it after Ruth tells her not to. After Erin sells Ruth’s heirloom quilt which a special family quilt, Vince and Erin then make an impassioned, tearful all-out plea to get it back. When they do get it back, Ruth tells the family about the quilt's history and how each patch represents a new generation in the family and her mother gave it to her so that she can sew a new patch and she will give it to Erin to sew a new patch.

Ruth and Savannah go to an old artifact shop and get an old hourglass that is supposed to be magic and grants any wish but they don’t believe it doesn’t work but still gets it for decoration. Meanwhile, Kyle and Erin are having trouble in their married life and work life and being stressed from money trying to get back on their feet and can’t agree on anything while Vince and Monica are having trouble trying to keep the romance in their marriage with a baby on the way. When the newly married couple and the married expecting parents clean up the house and when they all try cleaning the hourglass and shaking it the women tell the men they wish they knew what it was like to be in their body and then men agree and when they say these words: Vince is trapped in Monica’s body, Monica is trapped in Vince's body, Kyle is trapped inside Erin's body, and Erin is trapped in Kyle’s body. All of them panic and Savannah and Ruth tell them that the hourglass might have made them switch bodies. They all try to find ways for the wish to be erased but they can't find anything. They agree to not let anyone else know so they won't think they're crazy. When Ruth and Savannah return to the artifact store with his their four-body-switched relatives, an employee tells him that there is nothing he can do meaning the wish is permanent.

After Vince, Monica, Erin, and Kyle accidentally wish to switch bodies with each other thanks to Ruth and Savannah’s novelty hourglass, they realize that they are stuck in each others bodies forever. So they try to make the best of it. The others who are involved in their life see them acting very strange. When the two body-switched married couples see how great the other person's life is they agree to not try to fix it but after a couple days Vince realizes how truly difficult it is to be a Senior Vice President of Marketing for a major company, and a full-time pregnant wife and mother, while Monica sees how difficult it is to be a guidance counselor, and having to provide for an entire house. Kyle realizes how truly difficult it is to be a nurse in a hospital full of rude patients and employees and Erin realizes how truly difficult it is to try to find work and get back on your feet while people still come up to him asking questions about football. So they beg Savannah and Ruth to find a way to get switch them back together. So they try hardest to find solutions to get them back. Ruth and Savannah sit down and get the idea to talk to each other about how they took their lives for granted and understand how hard it is, the wished is reverse and they return back to their original selves. The grandmother and granddaughter then throws the hourglass away in the Du Bois dumpster and when it falls out they see two people pass the dumpster arguing about the hourglass and when they see them about to turn it he panics and stops it and breaks the hourglass preventing them from switching bodies.

When Kyle attends a game with Vince and attends a practice with Vince, he gives the team and the coach a lot of helpful pointers and those pointers helped the team win their first game of the season. Kyle then gets a call from the principal being offered to coach the football team and being in the desperate need for money Vince and Erin urge him to take it. The football team is excited to have a new coach especially that of a former NFL player. Coach Kyle, however, is in no way of playing games: only football. He works them very hard and pushes them even harder to the point where not only their grades suffer but they begin to not enjoy football despite the many wins they have gained under Coach Kyle. The former coach talks to Kyle and says that high school football isn’t like college football. He has to take it easy on them and not forget the fun in the game. Before the season playoffs, Kyle then apologizes to the team for how he’s been acting and says he will do better and that they should remember to play hard but have fun even harder. The team welcomes him back and for the first time in six years King High School Knights make it to the season playoffs thanks to the new head football coach, Kyle Harper.

On the other hand, Vince is anxious to know, so he asks his best friend and brother-in-law, Kyle help him get the ultrasound of the baby. Instead of taking Monica’s ultrasound, he grabs the one for a Monique Smart, who is having triplets thinking it said Monica Smart. In the end, Vince can't keep the secret so he blurts it out and Monica finds it ridiculous and makes note of the ultrasound mix up so she returns it to the doctor. In the end, Vince has his mother Ruth mother wanting to know the gender of the baby and as the doctor is about to reveal it, the episode ends and transitions to the ending credits.

Monica with the help of Ruth, Erin, Savannah, Kyle, and a few of his students stage an intervention about getting older and when Vince realizes he has been acting out of control he apologizes and goes back to his normal self.

Therefore, the others are all locked in a very hot RV until Savannah gets back to drive the truck connected to the RV out of the way so they could get out. But the problem is Savannah doesn’t return as soon as possible like she should have because she gets distracted by a group of guys who are hanging out there as well, one in particular, Josh, who flirts with her the entire time and begins liking her and she begins liking him, who he eventually asks out but she doesn't know how to respond. Meanwhile, the others, Vince, a pregnant Monica, Ruth, Erin, and Kyle have been locked in the RV for hours with no air conditioner or water so they are all miserable and begin doing crazy things. When Savannah returns, the others start rushing out the van to the beach with it only being 5:30 P.M. not realizing that other RV had been gone for a little while.

When she’s in the bank with Ruth and Savannah, a hostage situation happens and she goes into labor.

When they arrive to the hospital, Erin is there on duty and immediately tries to get her in a room and tries calling Vince who is asleep but not answering. Erin, Ruth, and Savannah try calming down Monica who’s contractions are coming closer and is wondering Vince is. Kyle struggles to wake him up to get him to the hospital. Vince does make it there in time for Monica to deliver the baby and he is awoken by a shot that Erin gives him. Monica successfully gives birth to a beautiful baby girl but she is still in pain and the doctor informs her that she has another baby coming out which is a complete surprise to the family because they had no idea they were having twins. As Monica is about to push the second baby out, the doctor tells her to calm down because the second baby is breeched, Vince then faints again. Through a slow procedure, Monica successfully delivers the other twin who is also a girl. The family is completely surprised and adores the two new additions, Vince and Monica agree to name them Patience Carmen Smart and Precious Camille Smart.

One day, Monica who is very tired and needs a break asks if someone could stay home with the baby and they all turn down her help. When Vince comes home because he forgot something, Monica sneaks out the house leaving Vince there with the twins for hours and when she returns everyone is upset with her and she lashes out on her family for not understanding her and helping her with the baby. Her family hears her out and apologizes for not being helpful and promises they’ll do better.

Whereas Vince is very happy to know that his daughter will be near him at all times. Savannah who wants a group of new friends to associate with and establish her role in high school. In the bathroom, she meets a group of girls named Alexis, Kyla, and Taylor with Alexis being the primary ringleader. She compliments her backpack and her purse and they like her interests and hobbies so she befriends them. However, Savannah soon realizes these girls are very much bullies and bad influences and when Vince catches Alexis, Taylor, and Kyla being mean to someone he threatens them to stop or they will receive detention and Savannah tries avoiding him so no one in the school knows that he’s her father. Alexis and the other girls were upset at Vince for getting on to them so they try to devise a plan to ruin their father’s office and asks if Savannah’s in on it. Savannah hesitates with this because she doesn’t want anything bad to happen to her father but she also doesn’t want them to think she’s weak. Savannah contemplates and decides to go along with their plan. When they are in the office, Savannah records them wrecking havoc in the office and she purposely ruins the plan to where her father comes in and catches them in the act. Alexis, Taylor, and Kyla are mad at Savannah especially when they realize she is his daughter. Vince and Savannah then have a heart-to-heart about her being in high school and making the right choices and still being herself as well as establishing some boundaries.

For Halloween, Vince is determined to have his house be the scariest and most spooked out house in the neighborhood finally beating his next-door neighbors, The Chapman’s, who are known for always having the scariest house for Halloween and who always teases Vince for not doing so. He enlists and forces the help of his family to make sure their house is the has every bit of fear factor. On the night of Halloween, the house is turned into a haunted house and everyone has on terrifying costumes. Vince welcomes a group of kids and families trick or treating and he shows them how scary the house is while the next door neighbor Mark Chapman observes. The house indeed is frightening and it indeed becomes too frightening for the children to handle especially when one of the children get lost and everyone starts to believe the house is actually haunted. When the trick-or-treaters start hearing an echo of the lost child as a ghost they all run and scream away to Mark’s house, until the lost child comes out and Mark reveals he set the whole thing up for his house to be too scary to where it’s traumatizing. Vince is upset because once again Mark found a way to outsmart him even when he thought he won.

Giving Vince and Monica a break from nursing their two-month-old twins, Erin and Kyle agree to baby-sit Patience and Precious while their parents both go out to relax and get their minds off the babies. Erin and Kyle take shifts babysitting so they can see what it feels like being parents while Savannah and Ruth attend a book-signing. Kyle takes the twins to the park while Erin tries to clean the house and while at the park his bombarded by several fans and talks to one fellow fan who has twin babies of his own. They talk exchange conversation and Kyle gets so side tracked that he accidentally takes home the wrong twins with their not noticing because of the covered up car seats. Both sets of twins same stroller and when he goes back to the house, Erin, notices that Kyle brought home the wrong twins when about to change their diaper. Everyone freaks out and panics and Kyle is unable to trace the fan he met at the park. Kyle and Erin try coming up with ways to find Patience and Precious and Savannah and Ruth get involved when they return back home from the book-signing. They all head to the park to try to see if the fan has returned but he hasn’t. Elsewhere, while Vince and Monica are trying to enjoy a day without the baby by doing non-romantic things since they are just friends, everything Monica sees and hears reminds her of her twin daughters and Vince continues to bring her back to reality. All out of options and after searching all day, Erin and the others decide they should just tell Vince and Monica what happened and try to fix the problem. When they arrive at the jazz club restaurant, Vince and Monica are dining at the same spot the fan is as well with Patience and Precious but try to distract Monica and Vince from seeing that. Monica wants to see her babies immediately and Ruth and Savannah try to distract them with the live music and in the midst of that Erin and Kyle make the baby exchange successful with Vince and Monica having no idea what happened. The two parents thank them all for stepping in and helping out and when they suggest doing it again all of them immediately deny the offer.

Savannah’s crush Justin finally asks her on a date to go roller-skating and she is so excited and nervous about it. When she asks her parents they tell her that she must have a chaperone on her first date. Vince obliges but Monica and Savannah disagree because they will make her first date awkward and miserable so they ask Erin to chaperone. Erin gladly accepts and helps prepare her niece for her first date. On the night of the date, Erin drives Savannah and Justin to go rollerskating and Erin tries to stay out their hair but they are acting very nervous around each other so Erin tries giving them both advice to make it through. A few days later, Justin returns to the Smart House not to see Savannah but to profess his love for Erin. Erin unintentionally made Justin now likes Erin, a 31-year-old married woman and the aunt of Savannah. When Savannah and Kyle walk in and overhear the conversation they are both confused and Savannah storms upstairs hurt. Kyle talks to Justin telling him nicely to back off his wife. Savannah is comforted by her Aunt Erin who apologizes and tells her that there will be many more boys that will like her and only her.

Makayla Grant, an eleventh grade rebel at King High School, asks Savannah for her new leather jacket and when she refuses Makayla and her friends beat her up and they take the jacket from her. When she returns home all beat and scarred her elders advise her to press charges and she hesitates. A few days afterward, Makayla confronts Savannah and threatens that if she presses charges she will shoot her gesturing her gun which greatly frightens Savannah resulting in her friend Gabe to protect her at all costs. When they see that their friend Danielle has a gun to protect herself, Savannah considers buying one from this 12th grader. In the midst of her looking at the guns, simultaneously after Danielle denies Makayla her brand new tennis shoes, she shoots her in the school courtyard. This frightens the entire school especially Savannah’s parents. Vince gets the idea to throw an anti-gang violence rally in hopes that people will turn in their guns to raise awareness of teen gun violence that ends up being very successful.

Monica’s very-busy and knit-picky Aunt Charlotte, comes to visit and to also meet her new nieces for the very first time. Ruth decides to volunteers at the salvation army and prepare a meal for them and she drags her eldest granddaughter Savannah so she can learn the importance of community service. Vince invites his good friend, Eugene and new head of security at King High School to eat with his family since he’s not able to travel back to New Orleans to eat with his family. When he arrives, Charlotte is surprised to see him and when she is questioned of her knowledge of him she tells them they used to date before he moved to Atlanta. However, it is later revealed in a private conversation between Charlotte and Eugene that Monica and Vince overhear, Eugene is Monica’s biological father.

In the midst of the Thanksgiving Day Smart-Harper activities, Monica discovers a life-changing secret through overhearing a conversation between her visiting Aunt Charlotte and Vince’s guest, Eugene that her biological father is not who she has always thought it was; it was Eugene. This news greatly shocks her and upsets her and she goes to her bedroom and shuts her out from the rest of the dinner. Elsewhere, Erin has finally prepared the Thanksgiving meal while her husband Kyle who is frustrated from being out in the rain to get ingredients for the meal. Unfortunately, Erin receives word from her mother, Ruth and niece Savannah who are volunteering at the homeless shelter that someone has stolen the Thanksgiving meal so Erin and Kyle must bring their food to the shelter and help serve with the help of the other members of the family. At the salvation army, Charlotte and Eugene try to explain the situation to Monica she reluctantly listens. It turns out that when Monica’s mother, Angela was pregnant with her, Eugene was much younger than her and he and his parents did not think he was ready to raise her and they forced him and sent him away to join the military against his will. But, Eugene always regretted it and he decided to stay out of your life completely when he found out that Angela had remarried Phillip, whom Monica always thought was her real father, he saw how much of a better life he gave Monica and Angela and that’s all he could wish for. Monica is still hurt at this news she just found out so late in her life and is more upset at her aunt and her parents for not telling her but she also understands. She later decides to call her parents to get more detail of the situation. But until that, they all enjoy the rest of their Thanksgiving at the homeless shelter and being thankful for the family they have.

The Christmas season is underway and Vince is very stressed with all the Christmas preparations and the gifts and needs of his wife, mother, sister and three daughters are all overwhelming him. He unconsciously makes a wish at the mall that he wishes he was women-free in his life. The next day he wakes up in his house and Ruth, Monica, Savannah, Erin and Patience and Precious are all gone and enjoys the peace and quiet in his home until he is bombarded by several men and boys, such as Kyle, his late father James who comes back to life, his co-worker Maurice, one of his students, Simeon, and twin baby boys named Princeton and Preston. It turns out that James replaces the role of his mother Ruth, Kyle is his brother replacing the role of his sister Erin, Maurice replaces the role of his wife Monica as his gay husband, Simeon is his eldest son replacing the role of his eldest daughter Savannah, and Princeton and Parker are his twin sons replacing the role of his twin daughters, Precious and Patience. Although, Vince is weirded out by having a man for his husband although they don’t do anything sexual, generally he starts to enjoy the life of an all-man world. Soon enough, he starts to miss the nurturing of his wife and mother, the warmth and soft play with his daughters as opposed to the rough housing, and the sexual intimacy with his wife Monica. He begs for his wish back from the guardian angel who granted him the wish and when he learns his lesson he wakes up on Christmas morning to his regular life thrilled to be back and expressing how much he loves and appreciates the women his life and how much they mean to him.

Kyle is offered the chance by TV producer, Sheree Sharp to have his own reality show that follows his life after football with his wife and his new family called “Home Team”, he and Erin immediately sign onto it while the other members of the family hesitate but eventually agree as well. On the first day of filming, during the interviews and the actual scenes the family carries on traditionally by being nice and loving to everyone. Shereé edits their interviews and other scenes to make it look they hate each other which is the complete opposite of the reality. This puts the family at odds and other people at odds with the Smart-Harper family. They go inside the garage where there are no cameras to follow them and hatch a plan and decide to be nothing nice but also steal all their footage and upload it to the internet of Shereé being rude to them. This plan does indeed work and Savannah’s class pet snake frightens them away.

After Erin catches her niece Savannah, getting in late from curfew to keep Erin from telling her parents so she won’t get in trouble, Savannah must cover all of her errands for two weeks. Elsewhere, Erin has been dying to see her favorite rapper, Grammy Award winning rapper and singer, Drake in concert but she’s been struggling to tickets. When the tickets have sold out but a contest to get a private concert by Drake comes up, Savannah uses that to rid her from the chores of her aunt. The contest is to find all the letters that spell Drake’s name found on the lid of ice cream cups. With the help of her friends, Chloe, Trey, and Gabe, Savannah gets all the letters from the lids except A but she must promise a kiss from an 11-year-old boy. Later on to much of Erin and the rest of the family surprise, Drake performs at the Smart-Harper House his hit single Controlla and everyone enjoys the concert. Erin then reveals that she meant to tell Savannah a long time ago that she was done with her chores but she kept on doing them.

As they are now, five-months-old Vince and Monica think it’s time for their twin baby girls Precious and Patience to get baptized. Monica gets the idea to invite all of her family from up north who she hasn’t seen in a long time. Monica comes from a very affluent, high-maintenance, renown, and a bit famous family. Her parents are Dr. and Mrs. Isaac and Amanda Allen. A brain surgeon and a judge. She has a younger brother who is a computer science analyst for the FBI named Thomas Allen married to journalist Victoria Allen and they have a daughter who is one year younger than Savannah, named Brielle Allen. She has younger sister who is a Broadway actress named Jennifer Allen who once tried to get with Vince years prior. Vince is annoyed with her family because for years they’ve always talked about how his job is no good and how he’s not a real doctor, and how Monica makes more money, and how he can’t pay for his mother and married sister to stay anywhere else. They even regret Monica marrying them. Vince decides to invite some of his southern cousins from Alabama so it wouldn’t seem bias. His aunt and Ruth’s loud-mouth sister, Wanda Washington, and his first cousin who is Wanda’s son, mechanic Reggie Washington and his wife, Yvette Washington who works in a hair salon and their two wild and greedy sons Darius and Mario Washington. All weekend the families bicker and Vince tries to put a stop to it but nothing works. The bickering begins to affect Vince and Monica and it comes to a point where the families leave and Monica cancels the baptism. Vince separately goes to talk to his family and Monica’s family saying that the other family won’t be at the baptism when in turn both families show up. At church when Patience and Precious’ baptism arrives, the families continue to bicker and Vince fusses and expresses how tired he is of it and that the families should put aside their differences and come together for the twins who are members of the Smart, Allen, and Washington family. They all agree and reconcile, watch the twins get baptized and enjoy the rest of the Sunday with a nice big dinner.

Later on, Erin overhears Ruth on the phone with her doctor and finds out some shocking news. When Savannah can’t find out who planted the joint, her parents ground her but then Ruth admits to everyone that the joint was hers and she lost it. She uses the joint to help her with chemotherapy and that is when Erin and Ruth reveal the devastating news that Ruth is diagnosed with cancer. This news shocks and saddens the whole family and Ruth states that she was waiting on the right time to tell them.

When he goes to the store he sees his arch-rival from high school as the manager who tries to put his twins in store jail for accidentally picking up shades of eyeglasses which Vince and Savannah find ridiculous because they’re just babies. They try to escape but the manager is being a jerk but eventually Savannah sets up a diversion and successfully escapes and they agree to not tell Monica. However, Monica does find out when she goes to the store later on and sees the mugshots of her twin daughters.

Savannah gets them both out but when they try to warn Gabe and Trey about the fast-spreading rumor around school, Savannah doesn't believe them and tells them neber to speak to her again, but then Chloe tells her she heard the very same rumors about her and Nick. When Savannah is crying on the porch her father steps in and says he’s been hearing rumors too but he was waiting on his daughter to come to him first and admit the truth that he’s always known and that this is something she has to handle. Savannah then enlists her Uncle Kyle and her father to get the truth out into the open with Gabe and Trey there to cosign. A furious Kyle threatens to hurt Nick and Vince makes him issue out an apology for bullying if he doesn't admit the truth. Nick confesses for starting the rumors and Savannah ends her relationship with him. She also apologizes to Gabe and Trey for not believing them.

Savannah, Chloe and their nice-nasty friend Morgan apply for jobs at a store, but, despite Savannah's and Chloe’s obvious skills and Morgan's incompetence, Morgan is the one chosen. Savannah and Chloe start to believe that they weren’t hired because they were Black and Morgan is White and the manager is White. They started to realize how there are barely Black customers or Black employees. Savannah’s family tells her that she should expose the truth and seek justice. So to uncover the truth, Savannah and Chloe create a hidden camera in Morgan’s hat on her first day of work for her to admit that she’s didn’t hire them because they were Black while Gabe and Trey fake apply for a job and Vince acts as if the regional manger to catch her in the act while Savannah and Chloe sit in the background watching the scene. Eventually, the manager mentions to Morgan that she does indeed not higher African American people in the case of Gabe and Trey and she is henceforth fired.

Savannah who feels she is old enough to not need a babysitter and tries to write a paper and Kyle who struggles putting the twins to sleep are left with the house to themselves and things take a turn for the worse when the power goes out. Kyle ends up making the black-out a better experience then a bad one for himself and the girls and he ends up helping Savannah with her paper. When Vince and the others return, they all talk about how much they enjoyed Kyle babysitting.

In the midst of trying to delete it, Vince accidentally shares it with some of Savannah’s contacts. When Erin and Kyle receive the video they all freak out and each trying to go to each of the people to erase the videos.

Savannah is the only one who seems to be not phased by Raymond's intellect, looks, charm even though deep down she really is. One day he and the class visit the campus art exhibit and when Raymond and Savannah are found in one area of the art exhibit alone talking about the meaning of the picture, they share a kiss as their interpretations of the art become more personal and intimate. They both are in shock after the first kiss but continue kissing and then stop when they realize what they're doing is wrong. The next day, class is very awkward for the two and Savannah isn't acting the same way she usually does and tries avoiding him. Raymond is then left with no other option but to resign from King High School when Vince asks her how did she like his class, she gave a very awkward response brushing it off so her father won’t find out.

Vince’s favorite TV show is Family Feud and he decides to sign his family up to compete. When Vince receives word that the Smart-Harper family has been selected he is overjoyed and tells his family. Vince drills his wife, his mother, younger sister, and brother-in-law to be prepared for the show so they can win with Savannah who is too young to compete act as the host. On the day of the competition, Vince is assigned the team captain while the family is very nervous. Meanwhile, Ruth is head over heels for the host, author, comedian, and actor, Steve Harvey who ignores her advances. Vince begin to get overcompetitive and gets too angry when his family gets a question wrong and is mad when they don’t follow his guidance. Savannah who’s in the audience tries sneaking backstage to cheat and get the answers. Vince’s attitude starts to annoy Monica, Erin, Kyle, and Ruth and they begin to ban on him so he finishes the last round by himself but he loses. Steve Harvey talks to Vince and tells him the purpose is to bring families close together instead of tearing them apart so Vince apologizes to his family for his attitude and Savannah for getting her in the mix.

Meanwhile, Ruth is still battling cancer and her doctor says it’s progressively getting worse and that she should try to take it easy. She tries to update her family on the news but she has a hard time especially with her birthday coming up and fully aware of the surprise party they’re throwing for her and she doesn’t want to ruin the surprise. On the day of her party and her birthday, Ruth is not feeling the best and tries to hide it. When it is time for the party, Ruth is very happy to see all of her loved ones there and Vince is even happier that he could throw the party for his mother. Suddenly, Ruth faints and is rushed to the hospital and the party is cancelled.

In part two of the two-part season six finale of Outsmarted, Vince and the rest of the Smart-Harper family, have planned a surprise birthday party for Ruth’s 65th birthday but Ruth’s physical health is declining as she battles with cancer and she passes out in the middle of her birthday party being rushed to the emergency room and cancelling the party. The family rushes Ruth to the hospital who is very unresponsive and everyone is scared and worried about Ruth’s health and start blaming one another for not being concerned about her battle with cancer. The doctors tell them that they’re going to try to run some more tests to see how much more aggressive the cancer has gotten and to see if they can do anything. Nurse Erin who works in the same hospital tries to figure out more information on her mother’s health. Erin and the doctors come back with updates that Ruth has been put on life support but she is braindead and those machines are the only things helping her breathe and it is up to the family to decide if they want to pull the plugs and let Ruth die. This is very sudden and difficult news to make and as hard as it is Vince considers it. Before the doctors pull the plug, he and the rest of the family go in there one last time to say goodbye and pray to God that He takes care of their matriarch in heaven and that he watches over the rest of them. After they finish talking and the doctors begin to pull the plug, Ruth miraculously wakes up and the family is overjoyed that she is alive and still has a chance to live.

He confront his mother Ruth about it and she worries too. Meanwhile, Erin and Kyle are away in Hawaii for their two-year- wedding anniversary, and Erin starts to feel sick but she and Kyle are determined to enjoy their trip. Vince prepares himself to confront Savannah about it until him and Ruth find the box and the receipt of the pregnancy test in Monica’s car in the garage. He and Ruth begin to think that Monica is pregnant yet again and when Monica is confronted about it by her husband and her mother-in-law, she tells them that she is not pregnant and it is not her pregnancy test and she reminded them that she had her tubes tied. Then that resorts them to confronting Savannah about the pregnancy test originally found near her dirty clothes hamper in the bathroom. Savannah is offended by her father, mother, and grandmother accusing her of being pregnant and never once having sex and she tells them that when she looks at the receipt of when it was bought she was at a cheerleading tournament that weekend. When Savannah is ruled out everyone sits and thinks about who’s it could be and when it dawns on them that there is only woman left in the house, The Harper couple returns from their wedding anniversary and everyone in the house scolds them and when Erin sees the pregnancy test on the table, she panics and frets. Kyle asks who’s pregnant and then the family asks the same thing, and under the pressure Erin admits that she’s pregnant and explains how it got mixed up around the house. Everyone is very excited about Erin’s pregnancy especially Kyle.

Kyle is being reoffered and resigned a better contract to the Atlanta Falcons under a new coach, new owner, and new teammates. He battles with his decision as to whether he should quit his job as coach of the King High Football Team and go back to his dream of playing football. Kyle decides to juggle both coaching and playing for the Falcons and when he returns back to the Falcons, his first few days of practice are very challenging for him. Kyle is used to being the captain and calling all the shots instead of following them. Kyle is trying to adjust to the new drills, new plays and new teammates who are much faster than he is. They start treating Kyle more as a rookie instead of the Hall of Famer that he is. Before the first off season game, he contemplates whether or not it was right for him to return. On gameday, Kyle is struggling and wants to prove himself but doubts himself until his family, and his students encourage him. Kyle then makes a touchdown by an incredible catch and yard rush to the finish line. Everyone is happy for Kyle getting back to how he used to and the captain and coach revealed that they were so tough because they had to build him back up.

Vince realizes that his family has not taken a family portrait in years especially with all the new changes to the family so he tries to organize a family portrait for his family and everyone has excuses for not wanting to participate but he makes them participate. They have a one-hour session with the photographer and plan on taking several different pictures in poses. On the day of the photoshoot, Vince is the only one that is ready for the photograph and there are distractions every time he attempts to get it together. When the session is almost up, they prepare for a picture but the picture is not organized and is chaotic and although Vince is upset at how it turned out, his family tells him that the picture is perfect because it represents how crazy and loving their family is.

Lately in the NFL, there has been controversy revolving around NFL team members kneeling own during the national anthem paying their respects to fallen unarmed African American men and women lives being taken at the hand of the police brutality. Instead of saluting, the significance in kneeling is to subvert the national anthem that advocates justice but it contradicts it in the case of Black Men. Colin Kaepernick of the San Francisco 49’ers has received much backlash from kneeling and is facing removal of his contract from the NFL. As an NFL player and a Black man, Kyle has been contemplating this same act of justice. He wants to follow suit in the movement but being that he has just gotten back on the team he wants to stay in good graces of the coach and in the owner. The coaches and the owner warn them that if anyone kneels it will ruin the reputation of the team and each player will be benched and possibly removed. Kyle decides not to do it until in the news there has been another case of a fatal killing of a young Black man that people and his teammates are brushing off. During the star-spangled banner of his next game, he decides to kneel against his coach and owner’s wishes but his other Black teammates and some non-Black teammates kneel and so does his coach not leaving him alone.

Sixteen-year-old Savannah whom now has her driver’s license is now able to drive on the roads freely, but her father Vincent still believes that she is not ready to be alone even though Savannah’s driving skills are quite decent, he does not allow her to drive alone or have her own car. Ruth needs errands done and she is not able to drive because her arthritis, so Savannah volunteers to drive Ruth if she lets her take it to go bowling with her friends for the weekend. Ruth is unaware that her father has told her no to driving his car so she obliges. However, Savannah realizes that her grandmother’s errands are more than she what she thought. Savannah takes the car for bowling that night later than what she thought because of Ruth’s errands and on her way bowling she runs out of gas. She reluctantly must call her father for help who is very upset but when he comes to her rescue he apologizes for thinking she’s not ready. He was just afraid of her growing up and one day driving out of his life and never coming back. Savannah assures him that she will never drive out of his life, wherever she leaves she’ll always come

At bingo knight, Ruth meets this army retiree named Howard Lewis who she competes heavily with in the final tournament and starts trash talking and going head to head with him. Ruth is greeted the next day by Howard at the door because she left her coat and he found her address through the bingo membership catalog. He tells her that he enjoyed bingo and that she’s very beautiful with a nice personality and he asks her out. Surprised and taken aback, Ruth hesitantly accepts but also very flattered. Ruth tells her daughter Erin, daughter-in-law Monica and granddaughter Savannah about the date who help her get ready and she asks if they keep it from Vince because he will overreact. On the night when they return from her date, Vince is waiting on her return and is very upset about it. After Ruth tells her son that she is 65 years old and can do what she wants she continues to date Howard against Kyle’s wishes. Vince and Kyle then try to dig up dirt on Howard to keep him away from his mother. Vince and Kyle have sources that he is a golddigger and tries to warn Ruth, when he arrives at the restaurant of what he thinks is substantial evidence, Howard denies the allegations and says that he is an investor for charities and has his own called “Digging Goals” not “gold digger”. Vince is embarrassed and so is Ruth and he leaves the restaurant feeling very bad for what he did. Later at the house, Ruth and Vince have a heart-to-heart and Vince apologizes for how he acted and admits that he doesn’t want to see his mother get hurt and waste her time, and that he has trouble seeing her with anyone besides his father. Ruth tells him that she knows how to handle relationships and that no one can replace the void of her ex-husband and father of her children. Vince then allows Ruth to keep seeing Howard.

Monica, Savannah, and Erin try to write it together but none of their ideas work so they separately write different children books and at the next story time they all read theirs but they end up sabotaging each other’s stories and none of them getting the book. They all realize how silly they were acting when it should be about making the children happy.

When Vince and Kyle are working on the roof, he falls and hurt himself badly and falls unconscious on the grass. His family rushes him to the hospital to get surgery worked on and the doctors tell them that they were able to fix his head but he suffers from a bit of memory loses that should go away within a few days. Vince starts to forget everything and then his family tries to rejog his memory but he doesn’t believe it at all. When Vince sees one of his students in the store asking him to sign a letter that he believes is an autograph, he begins to think that he’s an actor and that everyone in his house works for him as his assistants and everyone gets tired of his attitude and when he returns to the doctor’s office they say the results could be permanent. Everyone just wishes that Vince would go back to normal and they all miss his original self. When Precious and Patience say their first words ‘Da Da’ he responds to them and he immediately starts to remember who he really is and his family. Everyone is happy that Vince has remembered.

When information is leaked that Erin and Kyle are having a baby earlier than they prepared to announce it, the media gets a hold of it and they become the trending topic in Atlanta and Sports News. Erin expected her pregnancy to be heavily in the media and as she has gotten used to it as the wife of a celebrity football player. She has been asked to do several maternity photoshoots, interviews with Kyle as how it feels to be back in the NFL and an expecting wife. Erin even endorses some baby clothes and she gets offers for when the baby is born that she have her own docuseries and arrange photoshoots. She gets heat from other pregnant women who are not famous but is upset because they wish they could have the same experience and that she isn’t using her platform to voice the struggle of pregnant women. She decides to not let her baby be filmed and be a model because she wants to have a normal remainder of her pregnancy and normal postpartum.

Monica has lately been feeling unwanted by her husband sexually and she starts to wonder what’s wrong with her. After Savannah, invites over a boy that she likes for a study date, he mistakes Monica as Savannah’s grandmother instead of her mother which greatly offends her. She decides to the salon and spa with her mother-in-law Ruth and sister-in-law Erin to get a makeover and the mall to get a new wardrobe because she is convinced that she looks too old and that is why her husband does not want her and that Savannah’s crush thought she was her grandmother. Erin and Ruth try talking her out of it, but it is to no avail. When the rest of the members see her look, they are surprised but not in a good way but they try to let it past for her happiness. When they go out in public, Monica is happy about the attention she is getting but soon Vince helps her realize that they are talking about her and Vince has to fight off young men who thinks she’s a stripper and that’s when Monica realizes she made a mistake. Vince tells his wife that she was beautiful just the way she is before the made the change and no matter how old she gets. Monica agrees and decides to go back to how she originally looked.

Monica, Erin, and Kyle try to talk to him to tell him how selfish he’s being and that he should reconsider but he does not think it’s wise for her to get married. After talking to Ruth, he tells her that he fears that Howard won’t be able to take care of her and provide for her like Vince has over the years especially with the both of them. Ruth assures him that she is ready and that she trusts Howard to take care of her and that he should to. Ruth and everyone else tells him that it’s time for him to let go since his mother has found love. He listens to his mother and realizes that if she’s happy and can trust him than so should he, so he accepts the proposal of his mother and Howard and participates in the wedding.

Vince gets tickets to the circus and Savannah fakes being sick so her family can go while she pretends to stay home and act sick but when she really plans on inviting Derek over to hang while her family is away. Savannah invites Derek over as soon as they leave and they start to kiss getting very intense and sexual but Savannah stops and says she wants her first time having sex to be right. Elsewhere, Vince calls Savannah to check on her to see how she is doing and she’s not answering the phone. Vince and the others begin to worry and they leave the circus early to check on her. When they arrive, they all barge in Savannah’s room and sees her and Derek having sex and is completely shocked.

After the Smart-Harper family goes to the circus while Savannah who pretends to be sick stays at home to invite her crush Derek over, they leave the circus early and walk in on Savannah and Derek having sex. Vince and Monica absolutely freak out but mainly Vince who wants to hurt Derek but he is stopped by Monica, Kyle, Ruth, and Erin and he rushes out of the house. Savannah is greatly fussed at by her mother and father Monica and Vince, with additional comments from her grandmother Ruth and her fiancé Howard, her Uncle Kyle and Aunt Erin. Vince is so upset that he can’t even ground her but he resorts to putting her out and Savannah who is also upset and has continued to apologize agrees and says that she should move out but the others believe it is too harsh. Derek tells her that she can’t move in with him and she decides to live out on the lawn in a tent. Monica and everyone else tries talking some sense into Vince but he has mind made up and everyone sneaks around giving Savannah supplies and meals and they try to encourage the both of them to talk but they don’t budge. Derek comes over and apologizes to Vince and Monica and everyone else and that disrespecting them was a huge mistake and that Savannah has been very miserable but she won’t admit and that she hates that she did it. When it’s raining, Vince invites Savannah back in to get a towel. He uses that opportunity to talk and he expresses how mad he is but how he understands the urge because he never gave her the trust she deserved from the get go. She admits that what she did was wrong and that she won’t do it again but she always wanted her Dad to trust him from job, he was just afraid of boys hurting her and she said no matter what she’ll always have her Dad who she misses being around. They both re-establish some ground rules and boundaries and seeing that she has suffered enough, he lets her back in the house.

Kyle's 35th birthday is coming up and his wife Erin is determined to throw the perfect surprise birthday party for her husband. Kyle continues to hint what he wants for his surprise birthday party that he isn't supposed to know about. Erin also wants to take him to see his favorite rap group who he grew up in the same neighborhood with, Migos, but all the tickets to his concert are sold out. Erin is having trouble planning Nick's party because everyone denies her invitation and help when Kyle’s teammates and friends and even her family express their different issues with Kyle and tell her they won't feel comfortable at his party. On the night of Kyle’s birthday, Erin feels very guilty for not throwing Kyle the best party ever and when he comes back home and sees that only his wife is there to surprise him he gets very mad and decides to go down to his favorite bar/club “The Highlight” for a drink and a bite to eat. When they walk in the front door, the lights are off and when they turn them on all of Kyle’s personal clothes friends and his family pop up and surprise him for his birthday. Kyle and Erin are completely surprised with this stunt and they tell him they did this because Kyle would've never seen it coming. Also in the end, Migos comes out on stage and performs his their hit single "Walk It Talk It" for thier biggest fan Kyle's birthday, arranged by Vince and it turns out that Kyle Harper is their favorite athlete. Kyle is very, very overwhelmed with happy emotions and thanks everyone for what they did for him.

For Howard’s upcoming wedding, Trey and Gabe suggest hiring a stripper for Howard's bachelor party sets off sparks in the Smart-Harper Household and ignites a full-blown battle of the sexes, more specifically between Howard and Ruth, and Kyle and Erin, a small heated conversation between Vince and Monica during a nice family barbecue. While the men consider the striptease "traditional," the women call it "archaic, demeaning and stupid." But by the time the battle wanes and the smoke clears, its participants are lovey-dovey again. Vince claims that the couples reconciliation was because of his secret barbecue sauce.

Savannah has been struggling to find a car after all the money she’s been saving and is all out of options until her grandmother Ruth, reveals that her fiancée Howard has a car that she wish he would let go of and that sometimes comes in between Howard’s quality time with Ruth. He reluctantly sells it to Savannah after an overdramatic bittersweet farewell from it at Howard’s house. She gets the car and as she is driving it back home where her other family members are expecting it she has already crashed it with only driving it for seven miles. Ruth and Howard arrive at the Smart-Harper house because he forgot to give Savannah the insurance and he breaks down when he sees that it is damaged. For several days, Howard mopes around and everyone sees how hurt he is and Vince decides to have a funeral for closure. At the funeral, Howard is very emotional at the tributes and songs that have been given and he can finally let go of his beloved car.

With only a few short months of Baby Harper arriving, first time mom-to-be Erin gets the idea from her mother Ruth to have a baby shower for baby on the way to get a lot of gifts and lets her, Monica and Savannah plan it while she has other things on her plate to worry about. Monica, Ruth, and Savannah are the hostess and per Erin’s request, they invite all the rich footballer wives and girlfriends and associates that Erin truthfully hates to the shower because they will give her really nice gifts for the baby and for herself. The baby shower goes all wrong when twin one-year-olds who have just started talking Precious and Patience starts blurting out what they heard their aunt really thinks about the ladies at the baby shower that she stated about them earlier that week during the planning. In the end, Erin is left with no gifts for her baby whom is only two and a half months away from arriving.

Vince hears in the news that there are certain schools in the Metropolitan Atlanta area closing down and King High School is at the top of that list. When he hears this news, he immediately goes to the principal but it is to no avail because the decision has already been made and the teachers do not help either because King High School, the oldest predominantly Black high schools in the city has not received any funding by the school board. Vince loves working there and loves the students and he would hate to see it go. He tries everything in his power to convince the school board and they don’t budge so hosts a gala featuring the talent and potential of all his students featuring special guests to raise enough money. Enough money is raised to where King High School is able to continue to thrive and everyone thanks and award Vince for his hard work and determination.

When Mrs. Chapman, the next door neighbor has a problem with apples falling from the Smart-Harper tree next door and when Mrs. Chapman barks every night keeping the whole family awake, she makes a deal that she’ll bring her dog in for the night if Vince cuts down the tree. Vince agrees to cut the down the tree but Savannah is against it because it holds her treehouse and precious memories she had and that treehouse and that she wants her twin sisters and her new baby cousin to experience the treehouse even though Savannah hasn’t been in the treehouse since she was nine years old. Vince’s mind is made up but on the day that it is time to cut it down Savannah changes her mind and she decides to protest and remain in the treehouse so it won’t get cut down. Vince tries to be patient and eventually the other members of the family join Savannah in the treehouse for her protest. Vince gets outnumbered and he starts to see how valuable it is when Mrs. Chapman comes over, Vince gets in the treehouse and joins his family but it comes crashing down because it can’t hold everywhere.

Lately, Savannah has been very dedicated to her music and very involved with her singing and songwriting. One of her current favorite artists right now is Grammy-Award winning SZA who inspires her and goes to her concert in Atlanta. At her concert, SZA starts to sing a song that she really loved that Savannah sent to her and she invites her up on stage to sing it with her which is a dream come true for her. After the concert, Savannah talks to SZA and her manager about her singing career and they think she has a very promising career. After seeing her talent and hearing her songs, her manager offers her a record deal and chance to finish touring with SZA for the summer. That Savannah waits to tell her parents about. After telling her family about her future in the music industry, she tells them that she’s going to finish high school on the road and not go to college. Her family is very against it and tries talking her out of it but she doesn’t listen. When SZA is about to leave town and she is invited over the Smart-Harper House to say goodbye and she tells her that it would be better for her to finish high school strong get her degree so it can open up even more doors but to not give up on music, because SZA expressed her wishes for wanting to attend college an experience that Savannah needs to have. Savannah listens and agrees to finish high school at home and go to college to get her degree.

Vince decides to rent an RV to take a family road trip to the Grand Canyon in Arizona something he’s always wanted to do. His family does not want to but he forces them to against their wishes. They begin travelling and instead of making stops at historical landmarks Vince tries to beat a record to make it there at the fastest time possible but his family gets annoyed and wants some air and to get off the bus. Monica forces her husband to pull over for family time which only lasts a matter of fifteen minutes and their back on the bus immediately with everyone still tired and wanting to go home. Soon enough, they arrive to the Grand Canyon and while Vince is very happy to be there and beat the record the other family members couldn’t care less and while they are there the RV blows up.

In a one-hour special, when a tornado approaches during Precious and Patience’s 2nd birthday party everyone's plans are shot and are at home until it blows over, Vince, Monica, Ruth, Erin, Kyle, and Savannah think about how much their lives have changed since ever since the house got bigger with Erin and Ruth moving in prompts them to reflect on all the fun times, bad times, happy times, sad times, and all in all growing experiences they've had together as a family with as a lot of changes that are coming, such as Kyle and Erin expecting a baby, and Ruth getting married to Howard.

In the one-hour series finale of Outsmarted, there a lot of changes and new things happening in the Smart-Harper family. Ruth has fallen in love again and is preparing her wedding to the retired Army veteran, Howard Lewis. Monica is worried that her job might lay her off her position that she has been working for almost ten years. Erin is anxiously preparing and expecting the arrival of her first baby. Kyle as he just finished his first season back in the NFL and he is offered to get traded to the Dallas Cowboys. Savannah gets the opportunity to audition for a private boarding school in New York for the performing arts. Vince gets the opportunity from his former mentor in college who is retiring to take over his counseling center in Atlanta and be put on the Board of Trustees of his alma mater. All of the endeavors of the family members have not been made known to the general whole of the family. Vince struggles to tell his students and faculty of his new opportunity who he has grown very fond of and loving of since he has worked at King High School. Ruth begins questioning whether or not she is making the right decision marrying Howard and moving to his retirement estate in Southern Florida. Kyle struggles to tell his wife of the trade especially as she is pregnant and very close to deliver their first child. Monica is very worrisome of her losing her job and she is afraid to tell her husband. Savannah is afraid her parents won’t support her in going to school in New York after she receives word that she passed her audition and offered a scholarship. Erin finds out on the sports channel, that Kyle has been traded to the Dallas Cowboys and when she confronts her husband Kyle she tells her that he was afraid to tell them and that it was a decision they both had to make. Erin attends the NFL draft dinner with Kyle and the rest of the family and as happy as she is for her husband she’s afraid to make that move so fast. Monica does get fired from her job and she tries to hide it from her husband Vince but he finds out when he comes to take her to lunch and she is packing up her office. She lets out a sorrowful cry in her office and Vince assures her that everything is going to be okay. One of Vince’s students overhear a conversation between Vince and the principal about Vince leaving King High School and they are very upset because he is the main reason while they continue to go to school and he has made their time in high school much better and a big impact. On the eve of Ruth and Howard’s wedding, when Savannah’s friend are over reading the acceptance letter Monica and Vince hear the conversation and find out that Savannah has been accepted with a scholarship and asks Savannah why she didn’t tell her parents and she says it’s because she thought they wouldn’t believe in her. They decide to talk about it once the wedding chaos has stopped. On the day of the wedding that is held in the backyard of the Smart-Harper family, as Vince is about to walk Ruth down the aisle Ruth’s nerves begin to kick in and once she reaches the aisle as they are about to exchange vows Ruth runs off the aisle and begins to panic. After she talks to Vince, she admits that as much as she loves Howard and wants to spend the rest of her life with him, she’s afraid to leave behind all her family. Vince assures her that her family will be fine as they continue to live their life and that she has to live her own for once. She listens to Vince and goes back down the aisle to officially marry Howard and as they are pronounced husband and wife, Erin terribly screams and her water breaks making her go into labor. Vince and Monica try rushing Erin and Kyle to the hospital while Erin’s contractions who are very close and in the midst of rushing traffic. Erin won’t be able to make it to the hospital in time to have the baby so Vince must deliver his niece or nephew. Vince awkwardly tries to feel for the baby out of his younger sister while Kyle supports Erin and Monica drives. Right before they arrive to the hospital, Erin births a beautiful and healthy baby boy. Later, Savannah, Ruth, and Howard and the twins and others join them at the hospital to check on them. Seeing Erin and Kyle with their baby reminded Vince and Monica of their first time being parents and they realize that it will soon grow up like Savannah. This makes them realize that Savannah has an opportunity of a lifetime that they don’t want her to pass up even if it means being away from home and that she won’t be there baby forever. They talk to Savannah and give her permission to attend the private boarding school for the performing arts in New York because they know she will make them proud, they trust her and they know it will open doors for her. When everyone sees the baby, Erin and Kyle announce that they name the baby boy “Kyrin Vincent Harper” Kyrin is a combination of Kyle and Erin’s first name and his middle name Vincent comes from his uncle Vincent who delivered him and he and Monica are also named the godparents. It is also during this time where Erin and Kyle finally discuss their plans and Erin agrees to go to Dallas and she is excited for her new life in a new city with a brand new baby. The following two weeks, Vince is thrown a going away party at his school as he transitions from his new job to his own practice and new position as his college alma mater and he makes a speech about how he is going to miss everyone and never forget King High School and everyone grants him well wishes. At the going away party, Monica meets Vince’s principal husband who owns the biggest accounting firm in Atlanta and he asks Monica who he has heard of through her work of Coca-Cola to join his partnership in her own division where she’ll be receiving more pay and better benefits. On the spot, Monica gladly accepts. Three weeks later, Vince is at his new counseling clinic center that he is almost ready to open and he gives his family a sneak preview as they all prepare to head their various ways. It is an emotional farewell for everyone, Ruth tells everyone goodbye and how much she loves them and will miss them as she heads with her new husband Howard to his retirement estate in Florida. Erin and Kyle tell everyone goodbye as they prepare to leave for Dallas with their newborn son, Kyrin as Kyle has just been signed to the Dallas Cowboys. Monica prepares to take their daughter to the airport before she heads to her first day on the job and Savannah tells her parents and twin baby sisters goodbye and that she loves them as she heads to New York to attend the private boarding school for the performing arts. Vince is then left with holding his two-year-old twin daughters, Precious and Patience is his new counseling clinical office and he walks around reflecting on his family and how much joy they’ve brought him over the past seven years. His final words are two his twin daughters and he tells them that he guess he is no longer “outsmarted” and the scene fades to black as he closes the doors of his new office.
