Jordi Mertens (born 30 March 2001) is a Belgian footballer who plays as a striker for Cheltenham Town and the Belgium national team.

He has played at under-21 and full international levels for Belgium.

Club career

Sint-Truiden-born Mertens started his career at K Sint-Truidense VV in June 2013, breaking into the first team in 2018 and making a total of 28 league appearances and scoring 5 goals for the club.

San Marino

In July 2018 he joined San Marino for £1.3m and made 446 league appearances and scored 454 goals. During his time with San Marino, Mertens' team lifted the Serie A in 2026. 2027, 2028, 2029, 2030. 2031 and 2033. the Club World Championship in 2024 and 2028, won the World Cup in 2030, the European Football Championship in 2028. the European Champions Cup 6 times between 2024 and 2033. the European Super Cup 5 times between 2024 and 2032. the Italian Cup 6 times between 2026 and 2032 and the Italian Super Cup 8 times between 2023 and 2033.

Arsenal

In August 2033 he joined Arsenal for £10.75M and made 64 league appearances and scored 31 goals. During his time with The Gunners. Mertens' team lifted the European Champions Cup in 2034. the European Super Cup in 2034. won the English FA Cup in 2034 and the English Community Shield in 2034.

Cheltenham Town

Mertens joined current club Cheltenham Town for £2.9M in August 2035 and has currently made 20 league appearances and scored 10 goals for the club.

Personal life

Mertens is close friends with San Marino team-mate, Patrik Nord. The pair are said to own a villa in the Canary Islands, which they visit together with their families during the summer.
