The International Fair of Lisbon, acronym for FIL, is located in Parque das Nações, in Lisbon, Portugal. This is the space where some of the biggest fairs in the country are held. FIL has been a springboard for Portugal in the organization and realization of real international events.
Histoire
[edit]In the 1860s, the first industrial exhibitions took place in Portugal.
In 1888, the industrial association AIP organizes for the first time a national exhibition.
In 1949, under the dictatorship of Estado Novo, the AIP organized the ancestor of FIL, the FIP (Feira das Indústrias Portuguesas - Fair of Portuguese Industries).
After the opening of the first FIL exhibition complex at Alcântara, designed by Francisco Keil do Amaral and Alberto Cruz in 1957, the first Feira Internacional de Lisboa (FIL) was held in 1960.
Following the economic recovery that began after the 1974 Carnation Revolution and Portugal's accession to the European Union in 1986, the complex was frequently expanded to include more pavilions, particularly in the 1980s.
Caractéristiques

With a covered area of approximately 43,000 m2 and a total surface area of 100,000 m2 (the equivalent of 11 football fields), the FIL building is composed of four halls of similar size (10,368 m2). The site also includes a modern meeting center with 3 auditoriums and 5 meeting rooms, a multifunctional pavilion of approximately 1,200 m2, several shopping areas (shops and restaurants) and an underground car park with a capacity of 830 vehicles.
The main entrance is located in the south zone and is through the large hall. Entrance into the compound can also be done by the North Zone and the West Zone.
