Early Life

[edit]

In elementary, Candice attended Booker Arts Magnet from K-5th grade. Besides taekwondo, she was always busy doing some type of activity in elementary school. She started singing at age four in which she had her first voice lessons in elementary school. Other activities she was involved in were piano, playing the cello in the orchestra, and in school plays.

In middle school, Candice attended Horace Mann Magnet School from 6th-8th grade. Ever since she began middle school, she was always on the dance team in school. She was on the drill team all three years at Horace Mann. Middle school is also where Candice started taking dance classes learning ballet, jazz, and hip hop. She took dance classes all three years as apart of her school schedule. In the eighth grade, Candice auditioned for the most advanced class in the school called, "Dance Ensemble." This particular class, the female dancers had a guy as their partner. She was chosen to be in that class. Another activity she did again in school was piano.

In high school, Candice attended Little Rock Central High School which is a historic school in the middle of segregation. She was always on the dance team choreographing different dances. Candice graduated from Little Rock Central High School June 1, 2007.

Candice also attended the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff majoring in Business Management. While attending UAPB, she was still dancing in an organization choreographing dances again and later became president. The name of the dance organization was called, "UAPB Showstoppers." While attending the university, Candice took a voice class..

Martial Arts

[edit]

To start off her younger life, she started taking taekwondo at age four at the YMCA under Chief Master Richard E. Anderson. She started taekwondo because her older brother wanted to take taekwondo. Candice took taekwondo for eighteen years and won over thousands of trophies and awards. Winning the title of World Champion three times, being inducted into The World Martial Arts Hall of Fame,[3], and had an article in a national magazine "Emerge Magazine" were her biggest accomplishments in taekwondo.

Music Career

[edit]

After accomplishing her martial arts journey, Candice started focusing more on her music. At the age of four, Candice started singing and writing songs at the age of nine. While taking taekwondo, she would always write songs for her to sing. In May 2013, Candice was recognized by Tate Music Group and was offered a distribution deal. She agreed and signed a deal with the label. Candice recorded one album called, "Take Control" which was released on August 26, 2014 mostly online[4].
