This is a list of the Governors-General of Canada in order of longevity. There are currently twenty-eight Governors-General on the list and four living Governors-General. The list is in descending order and is correct as of July 17, 2024. The oldest Governor-General is Arthur Connaught (1850 - 1942), who died at the age of 91 years, 260 days. The oldest living Governor-General is Edward Schreyer. He is currently 88 years, 209 days old and has held the title of oldest living Governor-General since June 24, 2009.
To account for the different number of leap days within the life of each Governor-General, two measures of longevity are given. The first is the number of whole years the Governor-General lived, and the number of days past their last birthday. The second lists the total number of days lived by the Governor-General, accounting for differing numbers of leap years within the lifespans of different Governors-General.
