Brandon Pritzl (born January 7, 1992) is an American basketball coach who is the current assistant coach of the Green Bay Phoenix men's basketball team.

Coaching career

Ohio Graduate Assistant

Pritzl was a Graduate Assistant at Ohio under Saul Phillips to in 2014-2016. While with the Bobcats, Pritzl was responsible for many aspects of the program’s day-to-day operations, including ticket management, keeping recruiting databases up to date, and working with the Jump Program and the school’s summer camps.^[1]

Hillsdale Assistant

Pritzl returned to take the place of another former Charger, Luke Laser, on the coaching staff before the 2016-17 season.^[2]

Hillsdale Associate Head Coach

In April of 2020, after four successful seasons as an assistant under Head Coach John Tharp, Pritzl was promoted to Associate Head Coach for the 2020-21 season and serves as the longest-tenured current assistant in the program.^[3]

UWGB Assistant

On July 6, 2020, Pritzl was announced as the new assistant coach at Green Bay.^[4]

College career

As a player at Hillsdale from 2010-14, Pritzl was a key part of two 20-win teams. He was a three-year starter at shooting guard and was twice named to the GLIAC All-Defensive Team (2011-12, 2013-14). In his career, Pritzl scored 843 points and started 81 games while helping lead the Chargers to their first overall GLIAC regular season title since 1981-82 and their first regular season crown at the Division II level in 2011-12.

High School

Pritzl played football and baseball, in addition to basketball, for the Red Birds of De Pere High School...He was named First-Team All-Conference in each of his last two seasons...Named Fox River Classic Conference Player of the Year and All-Area player of the year his senior season...Was named first team All-Conference and was named to the All-Defensive team...2010 team finished the year with just two losses with an overall record of 23-2...He averaged double digit scoring in his first three seasons and finished his career with 1337 points in his career...Finished in the Top 10 in school history in points (second), assists, and steals...Was 94% from the free throw line his senior year...As a junior in 2008-09 he averaged 17 points, four rebounds and two assists per game while leading his team to a 16-7 record and a regional championship...The Red Birds were 6-15 in Pritzl's freshman year, and have improved by nearly 10 games over the past two seasons...Played for the Wisconsin Playground Warriors AAU program under Ritchie Davis...Was a member of the school's student council.

Personal life

Pritzl is from De Pere, Wisconsin, and graduated from De Pere High School, where he was the Fox River Classic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Year and All-Area Player of the Year in 2010, his senior year in high school. His family has a legacy of basketball success, as his father, Brian, played at St. Norbert in De Pere, Wisconsin, and his younger brother, Brevin, played an important role in his team's success during a five-year career at Division I Wisconsin basketball from 2015-2020.
