The 610th Air Control Flight (610 ACF) is an operational unit of the United States Air Force assigned to the 35th Fighter Wing. The 610th is located on Misawa Air Base, Misawa, Japan and is tasked to provide Command & Control within a sector of the Japanese Air Defense System. The 610th conducts operations out of Japanese Air Self Defense Force (JASDF) command and control facilities located at Misawa Air Base, Kasuga Air Base and Iruma Air Base, in addition to providing support to the 623d Air Control Squadron operations located at Naha Air Base, Okinawa, Japan.

Mission

"Provide premier command & control battle management, liaison support for the Defense of Japan and US interests in the Pacific Theater anytime, anywhere."

The primary mission of the 610 ACF is to provide a rapidly deployable Theater Control Operations Team (TCOT) in order to coordinate and direct US air and air defense artillery (ADA) employment within a sector of the Japan Air Defense Ground Environment (JADGE) system. When activated as a TCOT the unit is directly subordinate to 613th Air Operations Center, Chief of Combat Operations, and is the senior Command & Control agency within one or more of the JASDF JADGE system.

Lineage

Constituted 610th Aircraft Control and Warning Squadron on 2 Jul 1946. Activated on 15 Jul 1946. Discontinued on 8 Sep 1960. Redesignated 610th Air Control Flight on 1 Jun 1994. Activated on 1 Aug 1994.
