Aggreement Mexican Secretariat of Social Development (SEDESOL) and National Opinion Research Center (NORC) signed an agreement on April 24, 2008 about Mexico's social and economic development.

This agreement facilitates research to improve social programs for the poor and provide critical data for economic analysis of the country. By working together and combining the expertise of policy makers and the University of Chicago, the agreement helps Mexico to evaluate current programs and devise new approaches to spur economic growth.

Researchers and policy makers from both organizations in Mexico and the United States will come together to form a technical committee that will determine the research priorities.

The committee team established a research agenda for both organization. SEDESOL will then help provide access to the information and NORC will carry out the research project, with the participation of SEDESOL. Javier Su'arez Morales, Director General, SEDESOL went to Chicago to sign the agreement, it has also been previously signed by Felix Velez, undersectretary for SEDESOL.

The SEDESOL and NORC team worked together on the project that will help Mexican federal government and further their social and economic development.
