Sea Glass

[edit]
[1]Rounded Glass on Beach

Sea glass, also known as beach glass, mermaid tears, sea gems, beach jewels, and sea pearls, can be found along shorelines around the world. Genuine sea glass started out as broken bits of glass which have been tossed and tumbled by the ocean’s currents for 30 or more years before washing up on rocky and sandy beaches. Sharp edges are worn smooth and the glass appears frosted and pitted.  There may also be small C-shaped patterns on the sea glass.[2]  The most commonly found colors are white/clear, green and brown. It is rare to find red or orange pieces. The North American Sea Glass Association (NASGA) sponsors a Sea Glass Festival every year for sea glass enthusiasts.
