Breakfast in California Small cafes and diners dot the Californian landscape. Breakfasts at these establishments fluctuate between healthy vegan organic offerings and the more common bacon-themed dishes. Towns such as Placerville, Diamond Springs, Sutter Creek and Applegate have an array of breakfast venues that include local produce in their menu items - apples, berries, citrus. The pancake breakfasts are particularly interesting in that the quality of the pancakes are consistently good.
