The International Council of Air Shows (ICAS) is a trade association dedicated to growing and strengthening a dynamic air show industry to support its membership.[1] It is a non-profit and advocacy group based in Leesburg, Virginia. The association represents more than 700 active members.

Founded in 1967, ICAS encompasses air show aviators, event organizers, support service providers, and military personnel. Since then, ICAS has been responsible for standardizing and professionalizing the industry and has introduced many initiatives to improve air show safety.

ICAS's current membership is composed of many well-known air show performers such as the US Navy Blue Angels, USAF Thunderbirds, Snowbirds, Sean D. Tucker, and Michael Goulian.

ICAS is led by CEO and President John Cudahy.

Mission

[edit]

According to its website, "the International Council of Air Shows is dedicated to building and sustaining a vibrant air show industry to support its membership. To achieve this goal, ICAS will demand its members operate their business at only the highest levels of safety, professionalism, and integrity." [2]

ICAS Convention

[edit]

ICAS holds an annual convention for air show professionals to gather, exchange ideas, conduct business, and begin planning the upcoming air show seasons. [3] The ICAS convention includes exhibit hall sessions for members to conduct business, education seminars to inform members on a variety of air show-related topics, and awards ceremonies to highlight the best of the air show industry.

In recent years, the convention has been held in Las Vegas, Nevada at either the Rio Hotel & Casino or Paris Las Vegas Hotel.
