Childhood[edit]
Candi Newell was born in Tucson, Arizona the morning of January 1, 1990. Candi was born and raise with two loving parents who were by her side every step of the way. The name of her parents, were Margret and Rodolfo Newell. Candi had two older sisters, Nicole and Michelle Newell. They were twins that were born two years before her. As a kid she always was ahead of her peers and drew interest into computers and sports. According to her family members, she used to help her father build and take a part computers and participate in youth leagues for soccer and basketball. Her family said, if Candi has her mind set on accomplishing something, anything is possible.
Early Education[edit]
Candi went to a private catholic school in Tucson, Arizona where she grew up with her two older sisters of course. The school was Santa Cruz Catholic School. She was there from K-8th grade. Everybody inside the school knew who Candi was because of her outstanding academic record of being on honor roll and perfect attendance throughout her nine years at the private school. During that time, Candi was able to achieve her First Reconciliation, First Holy Communion, and Confirmation, as well. When she was promoted to high school, her family thought it was best to continue her education at Sal pointe Catholic High School. In high school she was involved in Athletics, Academic clubs, and Digital Media Design course. She had multiple offers throughout different colleges when she graduated Valedictorian of her Class in 2006. She pursued her dream of working with Digital Media projects all because she earns a certificate in Digital Media.
College and University[edit]
Candi took the offer of a full ride scholarship to University of California in Los Angeles, California. Her scholarship amount of 60 thousand dollars for a Non-Resident of California paid for Out-of-State Tuition, Other Fees, Room and Board, On-Campus Meals Budget, and Books and Supplies. She was a full time student pursuing her Masters Degree in Design Media Arts. She was a busy person, who always stayed active in the gym, while going to classes every year putting her all into her academics. She also achieve Double degree, first in Design Media Arts, and the other in Computer Hardware. Finally after graduating Undergraduate School in 2008 and Graduate school in 2010, she accumulated a GPA of 4.0 with being Valedictorian once again.
Early Achievements[edit]
During Candi's graduate education, between the years 2008-2010 she was selected personally by Steve Jobs on a paid internship to help design apple applications and features. She work side by side with Steve Jobs until he couldn't work anymore due to his illness.
Apple[edit]
After Candi Finish Graduate school, she was given a full time position as Head of Design for Apple Inc. She was working at the Apple Campus which is the main headquarters for Apple Inc. Apple Campus is located in Cupertino,California. The Apple Campus where she is working at has been around since 1993. Since the announcement from Steve Jobs in 2006 to build a second campus, the Apple Campus 2. Till this day it is still under construction, and Candi is not sure whether or not she will be staying in the building she is now, or relocating.
Marriage[edit]
Candi is not all about her business life, she does have a real life outside of her job. She actually is marriage and has been since 2010. Her Husband Fred, proposed to Candi on the night of her Graduate Graduation in front of 4 thousand students. It was the biggest surprise she ever encountered in her life. Both of them were engaged for 5 months. Throughout that time, Candi was planning for her wedding in October, while her husband was constructing the new Apple Campus 2. She was huge on planning events, and she wanted it to be the most spectacular night of her life. On October 22, 2010, at the Montage Hotel they became Mr. and Mrs. Carrisoza. After the weddings, usually people go to their honeymoon, but since both of them were busy with their work life, they decided to have their honey moon in April the following year in the Atlantis Paradis located in the Bahamas.
People I've Met Along the Way[edit]
Candi has met Steve Jobs with her internship. Eddie Opara back in her college days at UCLA. Massimo Vignelli in New York during a conference for Apple.
Current Life[edit]
Candi is currently raising her family with her husband Fred and their two children Selena and Erick. She is a stay at home mom while being the head of design still. She has been offered multiple promotions and raises since her she started. Their family is loving the life of living in California and experiencing the wonderful entertainments of life and amusement parks.
