Battleships of World War One came in different shapes and sizes. There was about 85 different types of battleships in World War One including submarines. The first battleship was built in 1906 by the British. This battleship was called the H.M.S Dreadnought. Most battleships in the war were made out of iron or steel. Although battleships were a new way of naval war, they also had many issues. One issue with the hem was the guns on the ships were hard to aim and were hard to get a clean hit on a ship. Also the only way to aim was to look at past shots and splashes in the water to aim. Also another issue was that by the time the ship had reloaded their gun, their target had moved and so had their guns. This means that all that they had learned about their enemies past shot and position doesn't help them anymore. Battleships in World War One were a huge invention when they first were used until submarines were invented and other inventions that were used to stop them. By this point, they weren't as useful and didn't help as much. Battleships were used then and now and will continue to be a bug part of naval warfare.
