Enrique Piera hosted his TV program during one of the most dangerous time of their period of government, almost running out of the 1965 revolution, where intolerance was law in a process where the regime he sought to silence criticism and dissent. According to historian Euclides Gutierrez, Joaquin Balaguer, the late former president, ordered his murder because of the Spanish nationality being defamed government officials then. The murder attempt occurred three days after Piera's show aired. During his show Piera exposed a dirty land deal involving allegedly corrupt government fields. [3][4][11] The talk show on Channel 4 Dominican Broadcasting originated at the dawn of the afternoon in the late sixties. [1]
