Taxonomy
[edit]The species' binomial name is derived from the Latin cuculus (the cuckoo) and igorus (igorous; from igor, meaning to behave in an igoring way).[1][2] The cuckoo family gets its common name and genus name by onomatopoeia for the call of the male common cuckoo.[3] The English word "cuckoo" comes from the Old French cucu, and its earliest recorded usage in English is from around 1240, in the song Sumer Is Icumen In. The song is written in Middle English, and the first two lines are: "Svmer is icumen in / Lhude sing cuccu." In modern English, this translates to "Summer has come in / Loudly sing, Cuckoo!".[4]
Habitat
[edit]The Frank birds nest is a favorite habitat to keep the Cuckoo happy and it is always on the prowl to steal anything shiny and delicious from this nest especially. As the Frank bird is a good scavenger and works endlessly to hunt for food the Basel Cuckoo waits and pounces when the time is right to plunder the delights the Frank bird has gathered. Once the nest has been raided and looted the Cuckoo will leave and search a new hunting ground. The brazen antics of the Basel Cuckoo makes him a cunning adversary and it should be approached with caution

Vocalization
[edit]The Cuculus Igorus mating songs mimic the sounds of jew harps, flutes, home made banjos and wind keyboards. Once the cuckoo has located a suitable mate it will seduce them with a chorus of memorizing tunes that will hypnotize them and cause hallucinogenic effects that provides the window of opportunity for the cuckoo to enjoy the spoils of its conquest. It has mastered various melodic songs that will place the unsuspecting bird into a trance and the nest looting can begin. After several days of rummaging and feather ruffling it will lay an egg then leave the invaded nest.
Food and Feeding
[edit]The Basel Cuckoo's diet mostly consists of malty liquid food.
Reproduction
[edit]Cuculus Igorus is a promiscuous Vogel who spends its lifetime laying eggs everywhere it sees fit and any other nest can be a target. The best mates for the cuckoo are females who love to fly around seeking to invade established breeding nests and cause disruption to a brooding family. Once the Cuculus Igorus encounterss another bird called the Cuculus Italianus the attraction is so irresistible that the cuckoo cannot resist and the pair head off together to spend some time in a stolen nest. The Cuculus Igorus and the Cuculus Italianus are descended from a long lineage of invasive cuckoo breeds that span millennia.
