Born in Ashford Middlesex in 1973, soon moving to Dunstable and then Maidenhead I left the family home for further education at the University of Plymouth, graduating in 1993 with an HND in Computer Science. Working from the age of 12 with a morning paper round, and working weekends in the newsagent I then worked for a Merchandising company in Maidenhead.
Starting work in 1989 whilst at Reading College of Technology and during my free time from university, I Continued until 2014 climbing the ranks to Operations Director.
I found a fondness for website design, born from creating web applications in asp.net and friends asking "can you help me...." so in 2014 I decided to go freelance creating websites for businesses across the UK from care homes to bike shops. Learning through applied practice, I soon understood the frustrations of most business owners not getting any business leads from their website. I now approach all website design from an SEO First approach.
I contracted for two years with a local website design company, whilst building my business, and learnt the nuts-and-bolts of WordPress and PHP. I understand the love-hate relationship within the developer community, but I find WordPress brings a lot to the table, and with some basic PHP skills can achieve everything a business needs from a custom template.
I am now, once again employed, after completing a number of project for a telecoms company they approached me to work for them, helping their resellers with Digital Marketing. This is now entering it's second year and has proved more challenging that first anticipated.. My story continues...
