About me
I'm a caregiver at heart to my family, I have worked in the medical field for 10 years. My hobbies have rolled out to be ways on how I can unwind. The gym is where I spend most of my alone free time, funny thing; in high school you would've never catched me enjoying anything athletic. I enjoy reading all type of articles on nutrition, random facts, biography's even the news but you won't catch me reading a book. Fun fact about myself I am a Leap year baby from the 90's.
Wikipedia In my Future
I am new to the Wikipedia world; I do foresee myself searching all type of topics I come across I normally like to do more research on. One of my biggest reading investments lately has been on the food industry. I normally never have a backup source when asked where they could find this information as well, I'm hoping I learn how to maneuver this site better to take information maybe even give back a little from what I've learned.
Article Evaluation
[edit]Thesis
[edit]I'm originally from the eastern part of Washington state, I didn't grow up around many lakes, mountains or greenery forest. Learning more about different lake areas has been one of my interests since moving this way. I visited Lake Washington article on Wikipedia, and found three aspects of it worth commenting on: Is the article up to date, are there irrelevant sections or sentences, and are there grammar errors or informal language?
Irrelevant sections or sentences
[edit]As I was reading Lake Washington off of Wikipedia, I came across a small section where it throws in a small piece regarding lake Washington having a two-passenger sea plane base, an area that was used for small aircraft take offs and landings that are not normally used anymore.
Is the article up to date
[edit]From viewing the articles history update, it seems like the article has been updated consecutively through the resent years. From grammar fixes and adding small updates people might be searching to add to their itinerary while visiting the lake.
Grammer errors or Informal language
[edit]I found a small section; I think I found to be informal randomly mentioning. "The lake provides boating and sport fishing opportunities." and it goes on to mention the list of all the types of fishes that can be found in the lake. I think it could be more informative if it mentioned different types of activities and attractions with more detail.
Conclusion
[edit]After reviewing the article of my choice, I think the article shares more relevant other than irrelevant information it gives us an insight on surrounding areas to access different areas the lake surrounds. A good brief section on how the lake obtained its name and meaning through the timeline. There is a section under Geography where punctuation could use some corrections. The article was last updated in May of this year 2024, with multiple edits throughout. With several updates explaining the history to current time.
