Epidemiology[edit]
[edit]The prevalence any age-related macular degeneration is higher in Europeans than in Asians and Africans.[citation needed] There is no difference in prevalence between Asians and Africans[1]. The incidence of age-related macular degeneration and its associated features increases with age and is low in people <55 years of age[2] with smoking being the strongest modifiable risk factor[3]. Age-related macular degeneration accounts for more than 54% of all vision loss in the white population in the USA. An estimated 8 million Americans are affected with early age-related macular degeneration, of whom over 1 million will develop advanced age-related macular degeneration within the next 5 years. In the UK, age-related macular degeneration is the cause of blindness in almost 42% of those who go blind aged 65–74 years, almost two-thirds of those aged 75–84 years, and almost three-quarters of those aged 85 years or older.[citation needed] Macular degeneration is more likely to be found in Caucasians than in people of African descent.

[edit]Thank you for sharing these suggestions. I have a few notes:
- Citation needed tag added. You can reuse the citation, but it is best to have a citation after every sentence in WP articles
- add your references after the punctuation like this,2 this.1
- Is UK defined earlier? If not define and add wikilink
- wikilink on blindness if not linked earlier in article
- second citation needed tag added to last sentence
Great works o far! It is nice to see all these improvements with high quality sources. JenOttawa (talk) 17:18, 6 November 2018 (UTC)
