Daniel Hughes American Surfer


Daniel Hughes is a surfer from Huntington Beach, CA. Known for pioneering aerials and progressive maneuvers in the sport of Stand Up Paddle (SUP) Surfing. Daniel’s first major competition and what kick-started his Pro SUP Surfing Career was in 2011 at the Stand Up World Tour ( SUWT)[1] in Huntington Beach, Ca. He surfed his way through the trials to earn a spot in the main event and then made it to the semifinals earning an equal 6th place against the best SUP Surfers in the World. In 2019 Hughes represented Team USA at the Pan American Games in Lima, Peru. It was the first time Surfing was included in the Pan American Games. Hughes secured his spot in the history books by winning a bronze medal[2] and became the first ever Stand Up Paddle Surfer to earn a medal for Team USA in the Pan American Games.
