Cassandra Casas Rojas

Cassandra Casas Rojas (born January 3, 1995) is a fashion designer. She is passionate about her designs and through them she seeks to bring solutions to the world's problems. She draws her inspiration from her cultural roots and from the world around her. Since 2017, she has also participated in many fashion competitions in various countries and has always come out as a top finalist.

Life and Education

Cassandra Casas Rojas was born in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, but moved to the United States when she was young. When she was three years old she started to take dance classes and continued to do so for fourteen more years. When she got older she became more involved in competitive cheerleading.

She enrolled in Kent State University in August of 2013 and graduated in May of 2018 with a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Fashion Design. She also graduated with a minor in Entrepreneurship and Marketing.

Career

While Cassandra Casas Rojas attended Kent State University, she was also a supervisor in The North Face from September of 2015 to May of 2018. Currently she is the senior fashion designer at Tasc Performance. She has been working at Tasc Performance since 2018. In 2020 she decided to create her own brand called CasasRojas.

gLOBAL

Cassandra Casas Rojas' won the Free to Be Me Award in New Zealand in 2019 for her collection called "gLOBAL." This collection made up her senior thesis at Kent State University. She drew inspiration for her gLOBAL collection from people who travel the world as a lifestyle. In her gLOBAL collection, Casas Rojas designed functional pieces of clothing inspired by these daily travelers, whom she calls global nomads. For example, one piece is a jacket that can become converted into a backpack and another is a jacket can be converted into a large tent. With this collection, she has also entered other fashion design competitions and has won awards. For example in 2018 she won the Niche Market Innovation Award at Kent State University's Fashion Show and that same year she also won the Excellent Achievement Award in China.

CasasRojas

CasasRojas is a designer apparel brand that aims to be affordable and accessible to women. Cassandra Casas Rojas also created this brand to make elegant clothing more comfortable for women. When she was asked about the origins of her company, she said that she had always wanted to start her own company. She also started her brand in 2020, which was when COVID-19 hit the United States. However, she credits the success of her brand to her optimism and work ethic, even if it was launched in a difficult year.

Notable Moments

• In 2018 CasasRojas participated in the International Youth Design Competition in Beijing, China and got 4th place from 31 finalists. She won the Excellent Achievement Prize.
• In 2018, CasasRojas participated in the Kent State University Annual Fashion School Fashion Show at Kent, Ohio and she was awarded the Niche Award. She was also a finalist in the show.
• In 2018, CasasRojas also participated in the Fusion IFFITI Student Design Competition in Shanghai, China. She was 1 of 45 finalists out of 262 applicants.
• In 2019, Casas Rojas won the Therapy + Psychology Free to Be Me Award from iD Emerging Designer Awards in Dunedin, New Zealand. She was awarded among 145 other applicants from 15 different countries.
• CasasRojas participated in New York Fashion Week in 2021 in which she depicted her own clothing designs from her brand CasasRojas.
• In 2021, CasasRojas was part of the Fashion Forward Disruption Exhibition at Dunedin, New Zealand. She was 1 of 25 finalists.
