Lester Beall (March 14, 1903 – June 20, 1969) was an American graphic designer in the Modernist movement. Beall's works are recognized as WHAT? in the field of modern American graphic design, representing WHAT? Beall was born in Kansas City and educated in Chicago, and was based in Connecticut for much of his career. His poster designs were exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art in a dedicated exhibition in 1937, the first such exhibit of a single graphic designer's work at MOMA.
