Ian Cooke

is an Australian born, Denver-based, musician, singer songwriter, cellist, and composer. His music centers around the use of cello and voice. It can be classified as avant pop. It has received an award in this category in both 2008 and 2009 from the Denver Westword.

His album "The Fall I Fell" (unsigned label) has received the award of Best Recording in the Denver Westword's Best of 2008 edition. He has also received mention in the September 2008 issue of Spin magazine, which compares his musical composition to that of Sufjan Stevens and Joanna Newsom. Cooke has been voted the "best band" by the Denver Post.

When performing live, Cooke accompanies himself with the use of a loop pedal.

He often collaborates with Denver-based artists Ian O, Kelly O'Dea, Whit Sibley, Sean Merrell, and Emily Frembgen.
