Félix Gila y Fidalgo (Segovia, 1860 – Seville, 1912) was a Spanish naturalist, writer, and professor.

Biography[edit]

Born in Segovia on January 10, 1860[1], Gila authored works such as Walks and School Visits around the City of Segovia (1897) and Guide and Map of Segovia (1906).[2] He passed away on March 7, 1912, in Seville, where he was a professor. A proponent of Darwinism, he wrote a Treatise on Natural History (1894). Gila is recognized as a leading explorer of the Sierra de Guadarrama from the Segovian side and has a street named after him in his hometown.[3]
