The Qin-Jiu-Shao Prize[1], as an international mathematics award, is awarded for the excellent mathematicians, who are devoted to internationally outstanding works in the field of mathematics. It is a most prestigious prize, which is named after the Chinese mathematician in Southern Song Dynasty Qin Jiu-Shao (1208-1268). He is known for providing a constructive proof for Chinese Remainder Theorem in his monograph “Mathematical Treatise in Nine Sections”. The winners receive a medal, a certificate and a cash award of RMB¥5000.

History, motivation and ceremony[edit]

The Qin-Jiu-Shao Prize was established by the Institute of Mathematics at the Shanghai Hanjing Centre for Science and Technology in 2023. The motivation of the prize discovers the excellent mathematicians due to the internationally outstanding works in the field of mathematics. The recipients of the prize are recognized at the opening ceremony of the International Conference on Mathematical Analysis, Applications and Computational Simulation (ICMAACS), which is held every year. The funds of the Qin-Jiu-Shao Prize were supported by the Long Shan Mathematical Foundation at the Shanghai Hanjing Centre for Science and Technology. The first such occasion was at the 2023 ICMAACS in Shanghai, China.
