Practicing Citations

...published in a well known scientific journal, the Wiley Journal of Biogeography and was only published 3 years ago making it a fairly recent study done on the topic.[1]

Although the authors may not be authorities on the particular species my wiki page is on, they are both published experts in their field of Ecology and Biological Sciences who have researched (and published articles on) countless other species.[2]

The thesis was published in 1999 by the University of Sydney, giving it credibility through its association with an important academic institution.[3]

The article is published in the American Naturalist, a peer reviewed journal published by the Chicago University Press.[4]

It can also be seen as an authoritative source due to the background of each individual author who have all contributed to the Biological Sciences through other peer reviewed articles within the same discipline.[5]
