(2018)

I Can Feel You Creep Into My Private Life is the fourth full-length release by Merrill Garbus' project Tune-Yards. It was released on 4AD Records on 19 January 2018.[1] Nate Brenner is also listed as a collaborator.[2] The album was mixed by Mikaelin BlueSpruce.[3] The majority of the album was recorded at Tiny Telephone Oakland and mastered in Harlem, New York, by Dave Kutch.[4]

Musical style[edit]

This album, in contrast to previous ones, features music that is easier to dance to.[5] The musical content has an electronic vibe and is influenced by Haitian music, Kenyan music, and her life as a DJ in California.[3] It deals with lots of issues in society--feminism, race intolerance, freedom, and more.[1] Identity politics are the main focus of the album; Garbus said the work was inspired by a desire to “resonate with what’s going on in the world.”[6][7]
