Girlie Sanchez-Ejercito (born as Girlie Javier Sanchez) also know as Maita Ejercito is a Filipina politician and former actress is the former Mayor of Pagsanjan from June 30, 2010 until June 30, 2019 and former Vice Mayor of Pagsanjan from June 30, 2019 until June 30, 2022.

Maita born in Silay City, Negros Occidental, Philippines, her name full name is Girlie Javier Sanchez.

Personal life

In 1987 she married to Emilio Ramon Ejercito III and have 4 children named Emilio Ramon IV (Eric), John Paul (Jet), Jorge Antonio Genaro (Jerico) and Maria Guadalupe (Jhulia).

Acting career

Maita was a actress and have seen in 25+ movies like Ako ang Batas: General Karingal (1990), Pagbabalik ng Probinsyano (1998) and Ang Dalubhasa (2000).

Political career

Maita is the wife of Emilio Ramon Ejercito III who was a Mayor of Pagsanjan at that time late became Governor of Laguna.

In 2010 elections she file her Certificate of Candidacy (COC) under the party of PMP as Mayoral candidate of Pagsanjan and won landslide victory gain to Celso Rivera who only got 3,861 votes out of 9,702 votes of maita.

In 2013 elections she file her Certificate of Candidacy (COC) for the second term under the party UNA as Mayoral candidate of Pagsanjan and won again landslide victory gain to Celso Rivera for the second time who only got 3,264 votes out of 11,456 votes of maita and Abner Afuang who only got 523 votes.

In 2016 elections she file again Certificate of Candidacy (COC) for her third and final term as Mayor of Pagsanjan under the party of UNA and won again gain to Terryl Gamit-Talabong who got 7,575 votes our of 10,988 votes of maita.

In 2019 elections being term-limited for running as Mayor of Pagsanjan she file her Certificate of Candidacy (COC) under the party of PFP for Vice Mayor of Pagsanjan her running mate is her son John Paul Ejercito.

In 2022 elections she file her Certificate of Candidacy (COC) under the party of PFP as Mayoral candidate for the fourth time but lost being second place in Mayoral election.
