The right to work campaign is a vehicle for exploring a fictional character created by political theorist and agitprop visionary Paul Brandon - namely the 'Right to Work Hound'.[1]

The avowed purpose of the campaign and its Hound is the 'Hounding' (hence the Hound) of cabinet members of the Conservative/Liberal Democrat coalition government that came to power following the 2010 UK General Election.

The Hound as literary technique[edit]

The Hound is a Dada inspired work of surrealism. The theory of the Hound - as developed by Brandon - postulates that the most effective strategy in confronting government austerity measures by inviting ridicule by dressing up as a big dog. Brandon himself usually expresses this rather abstract formula by shouting "I'm here to hound Con-Dem ministers...Yeah!".[2]
