ZOA MARTINEZ Zoa Martinez is an artist and designer who created many well-recognized, iconic brand identities including The History Channel, New York 1, The Travel Channel and A&E. Her designs have earned over 150 international awards including Emmy, Promax/BDA, Telly, and New York Film Festival honors, as well as multiple Emmys for her design of the Centennial Olympic Games for NBC.

Born in Cuba, Zoa came to the United States as a small child. She grew up and was educated in Miami. She founded and was Creative Director of ZONA Design from 1999 to 2010 and is currently President/Creative Director ZOA MARTINEZ LLC, New York, New York.

Zoa has spoken at conferences on the subject of “Design Made to Move” and has shared her expertise with audiences at BskyB in Rome; Promax/BDA State of Design Conference; HOW Design Conference; NAMIC; Hispanic TV Summit; Thinking Creatively Conference at Kean University; Savannah College of Art and Design; Parson's School of Design; School of Visual Arts, Cooper Union; New York University; Color Association of the US; The Best in the South West; and the Association of Registered Graphic Designers (Ontario).

Zoa and her designs have been profiled by major U.S. and international consumer and trade publications including the New York Times, Miami Herald, French Cosmopolitan, People en Espaňol, Business Week, Entrepreneur, Vista, Crain’s NY Business, Advertising Age, Adweek, Brandweek, Communication Arts, Creativity, I.D., Graphic Design: USA, Print, How, Logo Lounge, Millimeter, Videography, Animation, Post, Shoot, Boards, Film & Video, Shots/London, BDA, BBC, AIGA, Latina, Latin Heat, and Hispanic Business, among many others. Hispanic Magazine named her one of eight Latinos “shaping our world in art, fashion, architecture, and design. She was featured on "LatiNation" and "American Latino" television as "the woman behind some of the boldest and most recognizable brands in the world." On numerous occasions, ZONA Design was named to Hispanic Trends Magazine’s Top 100 Entrepreneurs list.

Several of Zoa’s design projects are in the permanent collection of media at the US Library of Congress. Her sculptures and paintings have been exhibited at the Lowe Art Museum and the Metropolitan Museum and Art Center in Miami.
