Patrick Chauvet (born October 11, 1951 in Paris) is a French priest of the Catholic Church who served as Archpriest of Notre-Dame de Paris.
Biography
[edit]Patrick Chauvet was ordained to the priesthood in 1980 for the Archdiocese of Paris by Archbishop François Marty. On September 1, 2003 he was appointed as Vicar General of the archdiocese.
In June 2016, he was named Archpriest of Notre Dame de Paris, to take effect on September 1st of the same year. On January 14, 2017, Pope Francis confirmed him as a consulter of theCongregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments.[1]
On August 25, 2022, he left office as Archpriest of Notre Dame. He was succeeded by Monsignor Olivier Ribadau Dumas on September, 4. Since then, Chauvet has been the Parish Priest of La Madeleine in Paris.
