Giacomo Ratto (born 19 April 1986 in Varese, Italy) is an Italian professional Goalkeeper actually without club.

Career

Through his career Ratto has played at various clubs around the world, he took part in championship of the UEFA, CONCACAF, AFC & OFC Confederations.

He started his career with US Bosto academy, at the age of fourteen years old he was selled to Varese Calcio and he was incorporated to the youths professional formations of the club. Between 2005 and 2012 he played with several clubs of Italian Regional Level, except in the season 2010-2011 that he played with Swiss clubs AS Castello of the 2. Liga and in june 2012, when he was aggregate in the preseason with FC Mendrisio-Stabio of the 1. Liga but finlly, after a brilliant performances in the Preseason,[1] he will not be part of the final squad due that the foreign spot was alredy done.

SK Victoria Wanderers

On 3 January 2013 it was officially announced that Ratto has signed with Maltese S.K. Victoria Wanderers of the Melita First Division.[2] He made his debut on 6 January 2013 against Sannat Lions at the Gozo Stadium in which he made his first clean sheet of the season.S.K. Victoria Wanderers won the match 3-0.[3] The club will ends the season in 3rd position, and Ratto will close the league with 5 clean sheet in 11 games.[4]

Tauro FC

On 15 June 2013 Ratto it was officially aggregated with the Panamanian team Tauro [5] The experience with Tauro will ends after few months with a mutual agreement due to a personal problems of the Italian Keeper.

Unan Managua

On 26 July 2014 he has signed a one year contract with Nicaraguan team UNAN Managua of the Primera Division de Nicaragua. The Italian Goalkeeper will miss the first match against Managua F.C. due the delay of the International Transfer Clearence (ITC).He will make his debut in the league on 3 August 2014 against Walter Ferretti. The match will ends 0-2 in favour of the "rojinegros" but, nevertheless, he was selected for the "Man of the Match" due to his great performance.[6] The good start will be stopped by a groin injury that will keep Ratto out of the field for more than two months.

He will be back to the field on 25 October 2014 against Real Madriz.[7]

On 28 November due an important offer coming from Asia, his contract was terminate by a mutual agreement.

Khoromkhon

On 1 January 2015 it was officially announced Ratto as a new Goalkeeper of Khoromkhon Champions the of 2014 Mongolian Premier League, for playing the 2015. Anyway Ratto will never play with Khoromkhon, because the Mongolian clubs failed to take the AFC Licence for the 2015 competitions.[8] The agreement with Khoromkhon will be cancelled.

Suva FC

On March 2015 Ratto landed in Fiji, he has founded an agreement with Fijian Champions Suva for playing the 2015 Fiji Airways OFC Champions League.[9]

AC Taverne

After the ends of the contract with Suva, on july 2015 Ratto signed a 4 months contract with the Swiss club AC Taverne of the 2. Liga.[10] He made his debut on 16 August 2015 against Ibach.[11]

Ulaanbaatar City FC

On April 2016 it was officially announced as a new Goalkeeper of Ulaanbaatar City F.C. of the Mongolian Premier League.[12] He was the first Italian football player to play in Mongolian Premier League.[13] Ratto will be an important piece in the achievement of the salvation in the Mongolian Premier League and in the 3rd position, achieved in Mongolia Cup.[14]

He will close the 2016 Mongolian Premier League as foreign goalkeeper with less goals conceded.

Philippos Alexandreia

On 23 August 2017 the Italian Ratto reached an agreement with the Greek Club Philippos Alexandreia F.C. of the Gamma Ethniki . After only two weeks, due an issue with the Greek Football Federation, the club will not be able to register the player and his contract was terminated by a mutual agreement.[15] Ratto only played one game in Greece; against Kilkisiakos of the Gamma Ethniki, ended with 0-0 score.[16]

SK Victoria Wanderers

After 5 years from the first experience in Malta, Giacomo Ratto joined again the S.K. Victoria Wanderers of the Gozo Football League First Division. With 4 clean sheet in 14 matches he gave an important contribute to the club to stay for another year in Gozo Football League First Division.[17]
