Alford Academy is a secondary school in Alford, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. It is a School of Growth Mindsets.[2]
Alford Academy is a local authority secondary school serving communities from The Lecht to Dunecht.
In 2015, Alford Academy and the village primary school moved together to a larger campus adjacent to the former Alford Academy site. The new Alford Community Campus includes a new swimming pool, theatre, dance studio, sports hall, and café. The campus is very open and bright and is loved by the locals.[3][4]
There are many areas within the school which help inspire the young minds of pupils who attend the Academy. There are outdoor learning areas, these include: An Astro-Turf Football pitch, Community Library, Outdoor benches, seagulls and community gardens.
Former pupils of Alford Academy include Emeli Sandé (Singer and Songwriter), Laura Murray (Golfer) and Izzy Tolometti (gymnast and captain of the Scotland women's gymnastics team at the 2018 Commonwealth games).
