Gillian Mawson is a Social Historian in England with an interest in oral history and the 1930s and 1940s. She has interviewed over 600 Evacuees and refugees to obtain their stories, including evacuated mothers and teachers. She is a screenwriter and author with WGM Literary Agency, working on three more non fiction publications relating to the Second World War Home Front. She is also writing a historical wartime novel. She organises evacuee reunions and provides research for TV documentaries. She runs a community group in Greater Manchester for evacuees who left Guernsey in June 1940 and who, for various reasons, never returned home in 1945.
