Infoboxes are important editions to articles. Infoboxes summarize the contents of an article and are sometimes the only place that it if feasible to add certain information, such as a persons height. They also improve navigation to closely related articles, such as relatives of people or previous holders of a political post.

How to use

Infoboxes are added by copying the template found in its specific template page (eg Template:Infobox Canadian Police Service). Below the template there will be explanations for each parameter (IE | example =) and will list those that a required and those that are optional. Once you have copied the template on to the article, at the top of the page but below any wikipedia banners, you can fill it in using information from the article. Make sure you fill in the required parameters or some templates won't work. Once you have filled in all you can, you can delete any parameters that won't be used in that infobox, for example in the Poker player infobox, you can delete the parameters about the European Poker Tour (EPT) if they never participated in that tour.

So a sum up of the above is

1. Find the infobox you want
2. Add it to the top of the page
3. Fill it in
4. Delete any unused parameters
5. Save the edit and your finished!
